I agree so much with Mimi on how EG cannot even capitalize on their biggest moments. SEN even while being the butt of every joke the entire last two seasons, has branded themselves so much and made sure every little moment they had paid them back. I can only imagine how the EG roster would've thrived under SEN.

it was just as bad in LCS last year when they had 2 NA rookies being the best in the league, absolutely no social media or branding around it and then all the issues behind the scenes came out and they dropped off even more

The cast not knowing who xccurate is crazy, even though none of them were in CS xccurate was a hero of Asia, glad that him and xeta are on a team together. Last time was like 2020 in CS (I know they didn’t play games together bc xccurate was on bench but I’m sure the vibes were good :)) )

What’s worst about the EG situation is that they were completely blindsided. If eg sat down with the players and said “look we can’t afford y’all but we still want to go forward with y’all, let’s talk about how to capitalize and monetize and keep the salaries where they were before” it would be much less heartbreaking

Idk if it has crossed your mind but when you give people an ultimatum it's usually because the budget simply isn't there, and esport players are absurdy overpaid to begin with, it's an industry that loss money every year it's not profitable in the slightest, no player should earn as much as people did last year.

Don't forget that EG is currently in two lawsuits ! :D. Josh discussing that it doesn't matter they won is WHAT IVE BEEN SCREAMING!!!. Players need to stop asking for 20-30-40k a month. Knowing the back end of what's happening def gives more insight, and EG has always been known to be a terrible org.

Players and commentors always seem at odds, but you guys made a great point here. People outside just don't know as much as the players on the inside. Instead of taking speculation personally they should just focus on proving the commentors wrong by improving.

@@iqbalaiman6956 Xccurate doesn't have a huge international fanbase to begin with. Of course they would be clueless. Could they have researched it before? Yes. But the fact still stands that he's a new name in the international Valorant scene, and it's always good to get recognition outside their local fanbases. Be positive about it, don't go around bitching because they didn't mention something he did in the past. Which was arguably something that could've easily flew over the radar outside of Indonesian fans.

Tyloo also wasn't that memorable of a team aside from its probably the best Asian team but there were still tons of teams that were better. Soo yeah not knowing much about xccurate isn't a huge deal only Chinese/Asia CS Fans or dedicated CS fans would know him.

EG was successful in Dota when they had consitnetly 5 of the best players in the world every year and they would replace individuals with consitnetly high tier players. Even if you can't be that ruthless towards winning in current esports landscape, you've got to try something. Maybe offer the players equal money or a slight pay cut but offer them a low % on the skins sales from the gun. It would encourage the players to push the fuck out of the guns, which honestly given how charismatic they are should lead to good sales

Tbf to Riot, they wanted to prevent that the slot is being sold TO AN ORG, which would have been the case while the players were still under contract with the Guard. Now it was only a bidding war for the player's contracts and The Guard didn't get anything out of it

IMO 100T picked up Cryo at the absolute worst time to pick him up. Don’t get me wrong he’s insane, but Will would have been perfect for the meta. He’s SO aggressive. Watch the vods of 100T with Will, and compare them to Cryo. Will was literally built for the Meta last year unfortunately he was on one of the worst teams in ascension and left/got cut I imagine cus they kept losing, but it has nothing to do with his quality of play IMO.

I forgot to mention the key point. Cryo was insane in the chamber meta but once it ended he struggled to find his footing for awhile. 100T even put him on omen for icebox which arguably became their best map cuz it was such an out of left field comp. Maybe this year in the raze meta he will play more flex and asuna will raze, but cryo is listed as the duelist so it’s doubtful.

Ooff unfortunately I think Ardiis' return to NAVI would be bait. They might well be better than NAVI with Cned but they won't be able to recreate their Championship form. The fact that EG were paying 25k, a colossal amount, a month per player for players that no other team in tier 1 wanted (before this demon1 era) is insane. Going into franchising only BcJ was worth even close to that amount. Asking them to take a salary cut AFTER they've earned their money is such an ass-backwards logic.

EG VALORANT >>> DRX LEAGUE ??? I knew this would happen one day and because esports financial nowadays are literally LLLLLL DRX league "dropped" their roster ( technically free agent ) because after winning worlds, each of their value goes up, like by multiple increments until DRX can't afford to kept the full roster As much as the team can be seen as a successful in terms of winning prestige tier 1 tour, remember that player's value will increase as they're winning the tour. fact that my first impression when seeing EG win defeating PRX actually both surprise and also worries me. Im glad that NA last hope actually deliver their performance rlly well ( despite me being Indonesian wish that PRX win but anw well deserved EG ) But on the other side, notice that EG were in the similar seed position like DRX, alias the final slot ( tho it's EG 3th seed & DRX 4th seed and no play-in for val ) both of them also seems like haven't win much major tournaments, and when the team straight up winning worlds/champions, well things like this are something to be aware of.
