hey I love the top 10 players lists, but something that I think would be interesting to change it up maybe for next year or the off season would be a draft system. I would love to see like a snake draft where all the hosts pick a team of the available pool of players either from a tournament or from franchising, then pick a coach or something (pretend language barriers don’t exist). I know kurt is like a one man band and the top 10 assets already exist, , but I would be down to either code something or help provide some of the assets to make it happen just because I think it would be a really cool idea! This way, you could properly value what IGLs bring to the table, and see the differences in what people value in like a top overall pick. for example, do you take the best duelist available, or do you think a strong IGL is more important? Just an idea, love the show as always!

One of the best ways to help the teir 2 scene, after fixing the qualifier issue, would be to invite the top 2 or 4 teams to the teir 1 play ins for the international events. Somthing like a wild card spot for playoffs or lcq. There is an idea that the t2 teams are better than a number of t1s. Let them prove it. It will help those teams financially, force the bottom t1s to spend some money, and drive veiwership.

The songs sound the same because Riot are trying to, as Mimi said, incorporate the same leitmotif into all their Champs songs. The only problem is that Valorant is confined to a narrow library of music genres since it’s a huge part of the “branding”, and pushing out too far beyond the scope of bass-heavy, synth-forward music will feel disjointed/off when it’s inevitably paired with the visual parts of Valorant’s brand (everything from music videos and trailers to loading screens, lobby music, etc.). League’s music is a lot more diverse because the world it’s set in is eclectic and varied. For example: Zaun’s got a lot of flair and individualistic style that pairs perfectly with genres like hip-hop, rap, alt/indie rock, etc. (as evidenced in Arcane). Meanwhile, scenes of epic doomsday battles between the mortals and gods/monsters find itself a natural setting for songs like “The Call” with its orchestral swells and choral aspects that contribute to that feeling of “epic”-ness. It also just makes more sense from a product distinction standpoint to make sure that the music genres used for League and those for Valorant don’t overlap too much beyond the broader umbrellas of pop-rock/EDM/hip-hop. The music is only a part of the branding and the marketing, after all - they’re not the main focus of the products they’re selling, merely a facet that enriches the overall experience of the product. It’s also important to keep in mind that even though the games are under the same publisher, League is still miles ahead in terms of global reach and popularity. League, being nearly 2 decades old, can afford to not have any reused motifs in their associated music because it is such a big, recognizable game. Valorant is nowhere near that point, and therefore needs everything to be as consistent and uniform as possible so that the it sticks out as its own thing, makes itself memorable, and perhaps most importantly, is so distinguishable from League that they’re unmistakably different. It would be great if Riot’s music division could figure out more creative ways to work in the same motif while exploring different genres, but to make it like “The Call” or “Warriors” would not be the right direction for Valorant, stylistically. In the future, it’d be cool to see Riot Music experiment with the “Valorant sound” by exploring derivative styles of house music (trop house, deep house, garage, etc.) or leaning even further into the EDM/R&B elements they already have.
