PLATOON Clip - "Elias Death" (1986) Willem Dafoe
PLOT: Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen) leaves his university studies to enlist in combat duty in Vietnam in 1967. Once he's on the ground in the middle of battle, his idealism fades. Infighting in his unit between Staff Sergeant Barnes (Tom Berenger), who believes nearby villagers are harboring Viet Cong soldiers, and Sergeant Elias (Willem Dafoe), who has a more sympathetic view of the locals, ends up pitting the soldiers against each other as well as against the enemy.

Yesterday my West Indian brother was blasting classical tunes out of his car. We laughed that it was likely people would do a double take. 🎼😂 But then the music reminded me of the tune for this scene, therefore I introduced my brother to this film. It's 1 of my favourites. I fell in love with the cool but wise Elias and actor Willem Dafoe. Thanks but scene still makes me cry. 😢

Where was he shot by barnes and where by the vc? Also they say you can see the wire that he triggers to detonate the bullet squibs in but the squibs don’t seem to explode? Can anyone see them?
