Thank you for not sliding at the end of the riff. Very few people believe me when I say Blackmore picks it on the album.

I'm confused! I swear I heard Ritchie Blackmore say in an interview once that the correct way to play this riff was 0,3,5 on the D and G strings. Oh well!

omg, Last july I was pulled over for speeding up near cambridge. The deputy asked me " how fast were you going?" i said "70" she says "72". its 60 thru here, why you going so fast?" " I replied " deep purple was on the radio ( it was smoke on the water). She kindly came back and gave me a warning. while my wife just shook her head..

On my website I do Song Recipes. It’s a way to add a list of theory and techniques needed to play certain songs. Gives people a good idea of what they’re able to play at certain levels of my site.
