Champions Chess Tour Aimchess Rapid 2023 (Chess.com) [02-01] 2023.07.11
Get pgn here
www.chess.com/events/2023-cha...
00:00 Hello Everyone!
The Aimchess Rapid, the 4th event on the $2 million 2023 Champions Chess Tour, features three Divisions of 8, 16 and 32 players. Each division is a double-elimination knockout where if you lose one match you drop down to a Losers bracket and can still win the tournament. In the Grand Final if the player from the Winners bracket loses, there's a rematch. The total prize fund is $235,000, with a top prize of $30,000 (150 Tour points) in Division I, $10,000 in Division II (50 points) and $5,000 (20 points) in Division III. The top 3 in Division I and the winner of Division II qualify straight to Division I of the next event on the Tour.
The time control for normal games is 15 minutes per player for all moves, with a 3-second increment each move. In Division I and II the Winners bracket matches are played over four games, while in the Losers bracket there are two games. In Division III all matches are over two games except the 4-game Grand Final. A tie in a match is decided by an Armageddon game with no increment, where the players bid for time they are willing to play with. The lowest bidder gets that time and can pick colour, while the opponent gets 15 minutes. Black only needs a draw to win the match. Official website: championschesstour.com

As being mentioned, first 13 moves is theory, and actually, even after move 13 e6, Levon is still winning (-1.7 for white from Stockfish). And actually Levon was winning until move 16, where Qf6 woulg give him +2.5, but Qh4 made 0:0, and not playing later Rc8 lost the game. So basically all this attack was incorrect

@HuNgerforrock 10 ай бұрын
I find it interesting that when Levon captured that e6 pawn with the horse he was pretty much winning. Actually the first blunder was Qh4 instead of Qf6, giving Nodirbek a chance to do a rook lift with tempo and his queen did end up on f6 anyway. This mistake alone neutralized his -2 to 0.0, and then moving the bishop instead of the rook basically put him into a losing position from there, so the rook blunder, however spectacular was it, actually didn't matter that much afterwards, just cut his suffering short

I remember when people were talking about chess being played out - too much theory, too many draws, boring. And now we have Nordirbek and Dubov and so many. That Nordirbek game is just stunning. Paul Morphy brought back to life. And Magnus is the perfect mix of Fischer (without the hangups) and Capablanca (with a work ethic). Since he gave up the world title Magnus has gone from strength to strength. He is so obviously enjoying his chess. And women's chess is super exciting too. The Dina Belenkaya game and the Muzychuk sisters games you covered recently The The chess world is such an exciting place. Thank you Antonio for bringing it to life for us.
