Thanks Justin for yet another very informative lesson. As an "Advanced Beginner" I find that many tutors on KZfaq tend to run through their lessons too quickly which can be quite frustrating. However, you always work slowly and methodically which gives us mere mortals the opportunity to take on board your points more readily. Keep up the great work 👍

This is a great technique for making your arrangements sound a little bit more special - subtle but very effective! Joe Robinson uses this a lot and does it brilliantly.

Enjoyed watching this lesson even that it's way ahead of my learning - nearly passed stage 1. I'm going to spend January learning 5 songs and practicing. But even at this stage I'm experimenting with a little finger style to make my songs sound different. BTW - my wife got an accoustic 🎸 yesterday ❤️ and set up an account on Justin Guitar 😁💛

Awesome! Very recently I tried to find a video on this and this is the only one that explains it well.

A lot of muscle memory to overcome here- most of us drum our fingers in one direction, pinky towards thumb, but the first example of rolling is like doing that backwards!

AHHHHH, Greensleeves!!! You caused me to lose my mind the other day when you asked on Instagram. Actually, now that I've Googled it, the reason I know it is because of the Christmas Carol "What Child Is This?" - dangit, I was so close in trying to figure out the song, but it drove me nuts & I almost gave up on guitar :p Just kiddin'! After I did your original finger roll course 2 years ago, I'm addicted to doing this technique. It's so easy to learn that it seems so tricky. But before you know, you got it & you won't stop doing it :D

Hello Justin! Awesome videos - very informative and helpful! I am looking to practice different types of chord progressions over a "backing solo", to perfect my timing and chord changes. Sadly a lot of the backing tracks have pre-recorded rhythm + chords changes, so that you can practice solo-ing over them… but I am looking for the exact opposite! What I need is backing solo tracks so that I can play rhythm over the solo! Can you suggest a way out for this! Tks a ton. Cheers,

Tip: If your ring finger grabs too much, just steepen the angle of your fingernail with your emery board right at the edge and it'll roll off.

And if you mix it, you have block n´ roll music :-) Back when I studied classical guitar, I was taught not to overdo the roll in this song. I guess that was just my teachers view. I like to do it a little different from time to time.

Yikes. I usually like your stuff Justin but this song is Dorian. It’s an F# in the melody in bar 2.

You shouldn't roll every chord. Overuse kind of takes away from it.
