Me too! Love NRB but one game a month with less experienced players left me hungry. Really hope this channel continues as is once everyone starts meeting up again

@@chrisseddon5823 I'm sure the discord games will keep on happening. As things open back up around the world and the game actually gets shipped, I'd expect the discord to grow alot. There's almost always a game going 24/7 there and alot of the regulars are tons of fun to play with. One piece of advice? Kat is always evil. :)

Sure it's mechanically possible for Navean to be the minion or demon, but Navean has been forthcoming and actively trying to solve the game, and revealed her statements on day 2 that would eventually lead to a Vortox world. Jack and Art on the other hand have not been trying to solve the game. When you take the social aspects into account, there's very little chance that Navean was the correct execution in f4 (and tying on f4 would have lost the game because of Sweetheart drunk, with no benefits since executing or Navean killing would have the same results otherwise), and there's practically zero chance that there's still a living evil demon that got Sweetheart drunked in f3.

Ben's reads were actually really poor in this game. I'm new to watching this group, but I got zero evil read on Navean based on that chat where Ben lied to her about his role, ran into a double claim, and then she hesitated to tell him her role afterward for good reason. Then he badgered her into revealing it, and STILL held it against her that she didn't reveal faster. That seemed so odd to me. He also was convinced Eevee was evil immediately, and convinced Kat's klutz claim was fake. And Jack was one of the people he trusted the most for most of the game actually. He didn't actually suspect him of being the Pit Hag until after his chat suggested that he'd be the most likely to do this as a Pit Hag very deep into the game.

NRB is how I found this game for sure. I dont like warewolf-like games...Clocktower is so far and above that it actually has me interested in a genre that I usually really dont like XD Been watching these consistently for a month now.

Everything was amazing. the constant pit hagged claims, double deaths, not knowing for sure which demon was in play until the savant full review, the chat about FF XII (Amazing game - Ben's view on video games being pieces of art is spot on), . Loved every single bit of it

I think Philos holding to long is one of the most consistent plays I see with that role. Basically when you want to pick a powerfull role that gets stuff each night pick early and when you pick a once per game role then most of them are basically night 2 anyways. Turn based combat a thing of the past? Well BG3 was still in development. But it was already in Early Accsess. Rogue Trader. Even PoE2 patched it in after release because the Fanbase basically demanded it. Not to mention both of the Divinity games. Personally I feel turn based combat in RPG is kind of on a wave of comeback for quite some time now. Certainly longer than the 2 years since this vid is out. What I find funny watching your player perspective vids is that you make all the mistakes you chew out the NRB crew for. Consistently!

In my world the Vortox revealing question is: Am I sitting next to a No Dashi?

A "no" answer would confirm no vortox but a "yes" answer could mean there's either a vortox or the ST chose to give you true info that you are next to the no dashi. So that is a helpful question because if you get a yes you could try to execute your neighbors just in case.

If you are next to a No Dashii / poisoned / drunk, the true answer would be "yes", and a Vortox in play would give you a "no". It doesn't tell you if a Vortox is in play, since you will get a "no" without Vortox, if you are sober / healthy, and you can get a "yes" or "no" if drunk / poisoned.

The collective noun for jugglers is a Neverthriving. A Neverthriving of jugglers... although the reason for that has been a bit lost to history, aparently.

I'd be curious to know if it would be overpowered for a role, that once a game, maybe limit it to night 1, choose two players and have them physically swap places, they still keep their roles

It already exists, it's called the Matron, which is a traveler. They chose 3 pairs of players each day to swap places and players are supposed to remain seated.

As has been pointed out, there's a Traveller that does this called The Matron. I'll be honest though, I've never actually used the Matron IRL, as it seems like a lot of hassle, especially in larger games.

“Knights of Pen and Paper 2” & “Galaxy of Pen and Paper” are great turn based RPG’s. I love them because, instead of creating a group of characters to play a sim-ttrpg, you create the players who are playing those characters. There’s lots of fourth-wall humour and self aware pop culture references. KoPnP 1 is a good game, but they went a little too hard on trying to be retro and just looked and sounded really dated.

Man Ben was kinda a dick to Navean here. He lied to her in their first conversation, then when she doesn't trust him because of that he badgers her in revealing her role, then proceeds to throw sus on her when he lied in that conversation while Navean told the truth.. He even bemoans the good team having lost already because they aren't going along with his unfounded accusation. What was that about? He seemed to just decide to tunnel on her because she didn't trust him after he lied to her.

This game was played almost two years ago, so I have absolutely no recollection of it, but it's worth keeping in mind that we're all capable of being incorrect or making the wrong moves. The important thing is to play with friends who aren't going to let what we do in the game effect our friendships outside of it. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say that it's really a requirement in order to enjoy the experience. After all, it's only a game. - Ben

wow, chat was really harsh about vortox proof artist questions. but a vortox proof artist question specifically doesn't give you any information now or later about whether a vortox is in play, while once more info becomes clear later on, a normal artist question can solve that. I dont think they defeat the point at all simplest vortox proof artist question is "if a sober artist asked you [question], would you tell them yes?"
