I guess Dan was the perfect subject for this game, because if you're playing this on your own then you'll definitely notice the horror tag on Steam and you'll loose half the suspense right there which was what happened to most let's play channels i think

I mean, if you haven’t seen anything online, the game is pretty good at lulling you into a false sense of security, even with the disclaimer (which was absolutely necessary, let’s not kid ourselves here). But it’s true that Dan’s reaction is one step above the rest. From memory, I’d say my second favorite reaction was by CinnamonToastKen, dude was straight up terrified of Monika by the end of the game.

@@mr.merfington4200 but on the other side they both usually forget what voice they gave to who after so much time. Like even in the middle of danganronpa the voices changed. These were pretty memorable though so out of all the games it’s not surprising they slipped back into them so easily.

Yeah, i watched this playthrough as well as mark's a few months after getting into the foster care system. It was a real dark point in my life. They helped me get through it, and laugh in such a bad place. Fast forward a few years, have a job and am out of the system. Coming back is, like you said, strangely comforting. Like coming back to an old friend. Lol just made me weirdly nostalgic... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fun fact if you read through emails in the game it turns out the main protag only exists because monika wrote him into the game to be able to interact with the player.

@@henrymartinvo Maybe she wanted a genuine experience. Yeah, she created him, but the moment he was created he was his own person. She probably wanted to organically grow a relationship with him and doing otherwise wouldn't feel real to her. Hell, nothing else is real to her, so the player character is probably the realest thing in her world besides herself.
