Thank you, Amy! Playing for meditation was one of my big questions. And also the second part of it - how to play for 1 hour in a row. But now I think I have an answer for it :) My thoughts were "I need to play very interesting things" etc.. Now I started to divide two situations: when you're playing for yogis/meditation class and when you're playing concert/performance for 1 hour. It's totally different approaches. So Thank you for the food for my brain :) and the topic from me: what do I need to play 1 hour performance and how to prepare for it? :)

I've tried in my yoga class when the students doing shavasa. It's really not about skills, it's about letting my relaxation and love flowing out through the handpan to the surroundings. Sometimes I imagine playing for a little baby hahaha

Thank you ❤ That just inspired me to pick up my RAV Vast and just play. I’ve had it for 2-3 months and haven’t really got anywhere with it. A bit of being too afraid to touch it as I don’t know what I’m doing. Just being playful and not worrying about it definitely helped!

Mmmm yes. I can't wait until it's warm enough here for me to play outdoors comfortably. Something special about it. It definitely slows my playing down, helps me to be more present with the instrument and my surroundings

@@AmyNaylorMusic 🎼 I know quite a few artists, and this is a common theme among them. They all have said at one time or another that when they're really in the groove they kind of just disappear. The guitar, the brush. the drum, the pencil, the writing all kind of takes care of it's self. When the art just happens, and the artist disappears. According to what my teachers have taught me, to disappear into whatever one is doing, this is Zen.🙏

Thanks so much for this, Amy! Meditative play is something I need to explore more. Despite there being an interesting mental state which can come from a song which requires _all_ concentration to play, this style is more aligned with actual meditation by far. Thanks again.

I actually noticed there is a qi gong geometric flow in your movements in one of your videos I was watching last night or this morning. Which may explain when you're saying it just feels really nice. Because as each tone resonates up the body it's going to trigger and interfere with, energetically the meridian line that your using to tap because each finger has it's own connected organ and chakra base. Makes me wonder if you are trained in anything like tai chi or qi gong before, or yoga.?? Anyway, follow up question, pretending for a moment that I win the lottery or something, a small win so I can only get one handpan, I would be looking for 432 tuned only, but for the likes of meditation and healing, but maybe also capable of playing known songs (not many, because as a rule 90% of music hurts my autism so I generally don't like it) The one company I have looked up so far is oasis and they have their own healing based scales, though I really don't know anything about music, I like their larimar sound, from your perspective from any other companies but mostly what are the scales I should look at for my purposes mixing the capability of meditation and maybe some covers?
