Play records, tapes, 8-tracks or whatever to your HomePod stereo pair! To do this, set up a local internet radio station on your Mac. Use iTunes to stream from the local radio station to your HomePod stereo pair!

I tried this solution with a virtual audio driver to use the stereo homepods as Mac speakers. It can work, but the high latency makes it useless. In my case it has more than 10s latency. Still it is usable for music streaming.

This looks great - going to try this at home with a new HomePod stereo setup - what stream settings did you find worked well? AAC 320kb/s?

Oscar Strangio you’ll have to play with it. I believe I was just at 192kb/s ...

Hi, this looks great! Can you answer two questions? 1. What version of Mac OSX is required? 2. Is it possible to automate this? (I’m thinking is a Mac mini without display hooked up to my turntable trough usb)

You need a Mac capable of running iTunes 12.8, in order to Airplay to a stereo pair of HomePods. If you just have a headless Mac with iTunes launched and always streaming from your "internet radio station" and always playing to your stereo pair, then it more-or-less could be automated.

Eric Marschner Thanks! So LadioCast is picking up and encoding the vinyl on line in, and sending it to icecast (icecast is acting as a streaming server?!?). And you’re using iTunes to open the icecast stream and sending it to the HomePods? Is that Right? 😄
