Sports, like most aspects of life are not easy in the Canadian Arctic. In Nunavut, the suicide rate is almost 10 times the national average. But a major youth tournament recently revealed soccer's importance to the territory.
This film was funded by our newly launched Creator Commissions initiative. Each month, there is a grant of up to £1000 accessible to any COPA90 fan and filmmaker to tell a story they feel the football community should know about. To find out more about our Creator Commissions, please visit: copa90.com/creatorcommissions/

@@nielsmeijer6698 if you do a quick google search, you will find that its called "Soccer" because of students in England in the 1880's. "Assoccer" derives from the term "association football" which back then there were no standard rules of football but distinctions- either rugger (later rugby) or soccer. Once it hit this side of the pond, the term soccer stuck, and thus we have a sport with two different names. History is cool if you bother to look it up.

@@oeakie3784 I am aware of the history of the name, but I hate the way people who don't care about the essence of the sport give it a wrong name.
