@@bobjoe5937 well, I see 20 in the current economy is a good point. but the ratio is by how many games you play though out the year to justify the cost for example can play though the whole timeline of the Yakuza games including it's spin offs back to back not having to worry about having to wait to pick up the next one which is about 11 titles

Idk where you guys were but when Sony raised the price by 40$ people were not happy. If anything people seem to be more accepting of Microsoft raising the price by 60$... Math does not work out, if you buy older games only on sales events. Add to that the disadvantage, if you stop paying the subscription you no longer have access to the licenses. That works for me, because I mostly play "ancient" games, instead of new ones. That is also the reason why the game pass will never be profitable. Because we usually chose the one option, that is favorable for us personally. I think MS did start to understand their colossal mistake in their planning now.

@@userFYTEfigs honestly, I think they're doing the worst out of the 3 financially. Margins on console sales are too low to stay in business. A large amount of these machines are still not in homes with active users as well, so no added revenue from sales and services there, just the initial sale margin. Their games are not being bought untill they launch them on pc or ps4. The better selling games like spiderman actually lose money because of how much money they need to give to marvel, they're in a 'yikes' situation. The Sony company relies on playstation too much, so they'll keep it alive as long as possible. I just hope they can stay in business, but it's definitely not looking good.

Sony was the first publisher to go $70. Increased their subscription 3 times even though the value has never been there. And increased their system just 2 years into the generation for no apparent reason. Mind you I own all the 3 big consoles and besides exclusives never touch my PlayStation. Inferior controller, subscriptions, and UI. Xbox has been providing value this whole generation. And game pass is amazing

Another reason comparing PS+ premium to Game Pass is stupid is Sony is basically selling you emulators instead of making their console able to decrypt their own game discs. Backwards compatibility is no extra charge on Xbox.

Did DCG just say he’s cancelling his GP sub because ‘this is just so ridiculously expensive’. Him paying 160 a year for PS Plus Premium aside (and failing to report that Sony made resubs restricted and ineligible to getting the days of play discount this year for the first time), this is over a 3 dollar increase per month? Lol. My man, the merits of pushing back against this on principle aside, if an extra 3 dollars a month is too much, this is not the hobby for you. Sony’s increase is way way worse. They upped it last year but I used to reup Plus every year during Days of Play for 60 bucks. It was now restricted so it cost 160 dollars. Even if we ignore the last 40 dollar price hike, it essentially went up another 80 dollars for all intents and purpses this year again as a result. And was a larger hit than Game Pass’s increase will be for me.

I understand the convince arguments on consoles, but it's a lot more expensive over time, you also have to include the bare minimum $75 yearly for "playing online", also a complete scam.

If im not mistaken. Game Pass Standard is a replacement for the current Game Pass for Console tier. Which doesnt have online multiplayer access. This new GP standard has the multiplayer access but loses the day 1 "feature". Overall this does make more sense and makes it easier to understand. PS I'm not happy about the price increase but GP Ultimate is still the best value in gaming

Also I love how they say people are still buying the games after the price increase. While not saying those same 70 dollars games are actually getting less sales compared to previous 60 dollar games. Because more people are not only waiting to see if it's worth it but also waiting for sales. In this day and age there are more people than ever that don't have the Cash to waste on shit overpriced games.

People shouting about how insane spending 240 dollars a year is for Xbox Ultimate, but on PlayStation if you spend 80 dollars a year just to play online and buy two new PlayStation games for 70 dollars then they already would have spent nearly as much money as it would take for a year of Xbox Game Pass. And that's only on Xbox. Meanwhile PC Game Pass offers to same service for 12 dollars. So it's just console players getting screwed over which is already the status quo.

It wasn't too long ago where PC Game Pass was also called Xbox Game Pass because it was effectively the same service, it eventually got rebranded to PC Game Pass later though. The only differences that I can think of is on Xbox Game Pass you my have access to some 360 or Xbox One games that never got ported to PC like Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts for example... well that and the price tag.

I posted this on griffin's video. Here in the UK the rise equates to 50p a week for a month so 2.00 which you can't even get a coffee at a cafe for. Also if people buy 3 new games in a year ,the base editions that's like £210 compared to 168 for a years subscription to gamepass ultimate.

What I find weird is I'm tying the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics to the video games industry. If no new energy enters the isolated AAA gaming system and the high grade IPs are being destroyed, the entropy can only increase causing the entire system to be unsustainable.

They are about too. Tom Henderson says mw3 is coming this month. I think xbox's are selling well now cause of call of duty on gamepass and the college football game being this gen only ... They decided to get the price hike out of the way and get everyone on board.

This after PS fanboys, people in his yard: -Cheered for $70 games for two/three years before Xbox and Nintendo (and most of the industry) did and gave every excuse in the book for it including inflation and 90s prices for games without any context. -Constantly states they'll pay more. -Gave weak responses to the PS Plus price hike -Said nothing when the PS5 increased in price (and even removed things like the stand to sell separately). Well, really said, "I bought mine. Not my problem." -Constantly poor shame, including calling Game Pass "Welfare Pass." Enough with the fake outrage over a problem that's partly their fault for their compliance.

I think my favorite thing about the guys supporting and defending Sony in this don't realize or mention that MLB the show every year launches day one in game pass while they pay $70 for the game. The last few years, I've played MLB and got all the achievements through game pass. The price increase sucks but I also only buy Ultimate when I can get a deal, I usually pay 1/2-2/3s the normal cost due to the deals I use. Since mid July last year, completed 30 some games through game pass that totaled $1,000.

Honestly, outside Ubisoft I don’t pay for games outside game pass subscription. $4 increase is a minor increase considering the depth game pass is going to be in the future with Activision/Blizzard.
