this game is legendary, it's never left my mind since I first played it as a kid :) I would love a remake of some kind.

Have you ever tried choroq hg3? Its the sequel to this, bur its more focused on racing. It was only released in europe though so youd have to play it on an emulator. It was known as “gadget racers” in eu, not to be confused with the other gadget racers game which is choroq hg1

@@IJFJJAJI after looking it up, I've seen it before but never played it. I never knew it was the sequel. There was another game that looked just road trip adventure but it was different and also focused on racing, I forgot the name though 🤔

@@__ian94__ maybe penny racers? if you're in the eu, the series goes like this choroq hg1 - penny racers choroq hg2 - road trip adventure choroq hg3 - gadget racers choroq hg4 - ChoroQ

チョロQシリーズは名称がややこしいんですよね、同じ"Gadget Racers"という名称でもPS2の"チョロQHG"や"チョロQHG3"、GBAの"チョロQアドバンス"、GCの"チョロQ!"とか、いくつかのチョロQゲームの海外名称が同じだったりするんです。しかも"チョロQHG"は上のコメントに書いてある通り "Penny Racers"と"Gadget Racers"の2種類あるんです。それなのに"チョロQHG4"は海外では"ChoroQ"というそのままの名前で発売されたり。ややこしすぎますね

Same here I always just drove around and unlocked the Q’a first. That way I just had to warp to one when I ran out of gas lol.

This was a family favorite, and now I feel the need to seek it out again and play. My first foray into open-world gaming, and gives such a warm feeling experiencing it again.

I played this game as a kid and drove my car into the water under a bridge. I kept thinking an octopus was going to eat me so I turned off the game and literally threw it away from me because I was so scared. I was not a bright child.

we need a 2nd edition of this game or at least a remaster this was the racing game we needed. where each in each city there was adventure around every corner, and each city had its own character, for example one was japanese style while another tried to look like las vegas, oh and the music that was played during a race, nostalgia city. These are the kind of games we needed.

This was one of my favourite childhood games. I wish I could play it today but I struggle to set up the emulator properly. This was even uploaded on my birthday haha, thanks a lot man! Just found the channel but instantly subbed!

What do you struggle with? All you need is pcsx2, a bios pack from the internet, and the rom (pal or ntsc, or even ntsc-j)

@@IJFJJAJI I struggle with properly setting it up. Midnight Club 3 for example I managed to get to run in a playable state but this just seems to be slowed down no matter what I do with the emulator settings.

@@bohus5793 that should definitely be able to run it. i used to have an fx6300 and r9 280x and i finished the full game on 5x resolution with no slowdowns. it was on PAL though so i only needed to reach 50 fps instead of 60. make sure you're using opengl or dx11 hardware as your renderer because software will run much slower. also, try enabling mtvu in speedhacks. are you running the game from a physical disk or an iso file?

Japanese games are fun oriented and make pleasant environments, music, ui menu, simple but this arcade style where you just jump in and do what you’re supposed to. This kind of design never fails in Japanese games, hail to this. If you pay attention to other companies they have been profit oriented wich is completely toxic and boring, yet they managed to capture those people who got involved in it. Yes you can have fun with whatever you like, but personally this style was just epic. Back in those days when you never heard about a game, no trailer no announcement on big screens, just the front of a book and a few pictures to give you a glimpse. The surprise element was huge back then if we step in the kid mindset, games should be done this way forever!!!

So play it again by emulator and don't listen that it's not that fun like in the past, because is nostalgia thing. I play a lot of games that I don't know as a child, and enjoy them soooo much, more than most of the new, beautiful looking, empty and soulless productions.

Played three of them incl this one :) Tho I have played the PAL version which has different names, Penny Racers is ChoroQ HG, this is... the third HG3 I think and the game that is called only ChoroQ here in PAL region is HG4 iirc. Confusing to say the least

@@RacingGameArchive I saw you played Choro q on PS1 too, which is awesome, but I'll quickly clarify what the names of the PS2 games are because it took me a long time to learn this myself: 1) Choro Q HG1 - called Gadget Racers in the US and Penny Racers in the EU 2) Choro Q HG2 - called Road Trip in the Us and Road Trip Adventure in the EU 3) Choro Q HG3 - called Gadget Racers in the EU (not to be confused with the US name of HG1) and called Road Trip: Adventure Avenue in the US but the US version was never released, only the european one 4) Choro Q HG4 - called ChoroQ in both EU and US Extremely confusing, downright bizarre naming scheme, but this means that outside of spinoffs (such as Seek and Destroy) there's four games in total on PS2, plus a gamecube port of Road Trip Adventure (called Road Trip: The Arcade Edition) which added weapons but was otherwise mostly the same game. Hope this clears it up for anyone else reading the comments, and if you do plan to cover the ones you haven't shown on the channel yet that'd be awesome too of course :)
