I completely agree! I don't know WHY they did this to The Sims 4. They could have made an amazing game...and instead we get this.

I think EA tried to make TS4 an online only like SimCity reboot and SC flopped and they can't scrap TS4 development process. So here we are. Suffering from greediness and laziness from Sims dev.

I dedicated my childhood to Sims 1 and 2. The games had so much humor and drama! I'm serious, go back to the Specter family and do some light detective work. And here I sit playing sims 2 wishing my kids were kids longer because there's so many things I can do with them but never seem to have the time before they become teens! Another thing I felt they dumbed down too much was child care. Sims 2 you can't have all the adults leave the lot if there's a baby or toddler in the home. You had to have a nanny. Sims 3 you had to get a babysitter, and the adults could leave but a babysitter would be there pretty quickly. Sims 4 they just "magically" get whisked off to day care! And there's no curfew, either. If a child is visiting another house in Sims 2 they leave at 6pm. If they don't leave a parent comes in gets them within a couple of hours. I know children and teens had curfew in Sims 3, too. And I love that teens can sneak out late at night and might get caught in Sims 2.

I also miss the private school.

@@radicalgrrrl It's the slow dance mod by sacrificial. He also has a couple of other romance interaction mods that are good including cuddling under the stars and passionate romance. I use all three in my game.

I completely agree! I don't know what they're thinking! People just want basic life simulation features and they keep wasting time on buggy BS that no one asked for!

I believe they are targeting children and younger generations now! Sims was amazing before Sims 4 but now it seems childish and way to simple.

When I first saw The Sims 4, I thought it was a new facebook sims game. It looks and feels like an app. Like, a mobile game. It's cool, but it's a mobile game. Atleast it doesn't have microtransactions... though, the dlc doesn't add a lot so they're kinda microtransactions anyway.

It’s just crazy to me that in 2005 we got all of these features in one expansion pack and now in 2021 they’re all separated into different packs just for the sake of profit... it’s really sad. And the fact we still don’t have cars is just INSANE 😂

Also the attraction system, fury-which was so realistic, really bad interactions/mishaps would temprorarily tank their relationship and with fury it would gradually improve over time. The matchmaker and Crumplebottom NPCs, the best dating system we have to date came with this pack. Spas were another part of the pack.

Tbh it always depends on the person. I do have fun with the game. Yeah its not as good as it could or should be but I definetly can spend some time buildung and playing. Some mods give you more to do and make it better so you definetly can have fun. But yeah, it should be much better. I still hope they add some stuff from the sims 2 or 3 but I dont think we will get it. They Probably drop the sims 5 before that ever happens.

I just mean for example sims 1 vs sims 2 and then sims 3 over sims 2 had such great improvement on one another, while ts4 overall just feels like a downgrade on so many levels. For old sims players like me it’s more noticeable prob, the changes in overall sims teams and corporate goals reflects a lot too :/

I actually found I like Sims 4 the best, idky. xD Like I started with Sims 1 and I played the heck out of that, but I was a kid and had a bigger imagination, I don't really find Sims 1 fun today but more of "Dang this game is hard how did I ever find this fun." cuz' those needs just are impossible to keep up with! xD; (But guess I did have the rejuvenator, and me testing out the game for the first time in over a decade wanted to avoid cheating like that xD) And I remeber visiting the stores was always such fun and me of today is like "There's not really anything to do here, how was this fun!?" xDDD;;; Sims 2, I don't really remember much about it gameplay-wise tbh as I didn't get that much gameplay out of it, I do rember liking it and playing it for probably about 2 weeks to a month, until a fire ended up killing my entire family when I walked away and idky but that really killed my interest in Sims 2, I was so disappointed, and really my memory of the Sims 2 is the screenshot in my mind of the end of that game. xDD;; (Years later when Sims 3 came out, I wanted to pick it back up again, I couldn't find my installation cd.) So of all the Sims games, this is the one I just never got to play much of. Sims 3, I actually idky but I mostly felt like Sims 3 & 4 were similar enough to me? Like the main things I remember having missed was the open world and being able to hug snakes. *laughs* xDDDD (idk why that's a feature that stuck out to me so much. xD) When I was able to get my hands on the Sims 4, I stuck to Sims 4 because I preferred the graphics, and it virtually has no bugs for me. (My Sims 3 was always bugging out in really obnoxious ways like for example my sims would go comtemplating, and you'd never know if they'd ever come back. -perhaps there's a debug option for that but at the time I didn't think about that- If you visited one of the worlds, the game file would likely corrupt, and that was one of my favorite things to do and I ended up realizing I couldn't do that anymore if I wanted to improve my chances of not corrupting my game? xDDD:) A normal feature I miss is Burglars & Bonehilda, I hated burglars in Sims 1 but they were amusing to me in Sims 3. xD I do know what ya'll mean by the every sim seems to have the same personality as well, I really wish they had more visible individuality. (I guess I must be weird because I didn't really notice them behaving that differently in Sims 3, wish I still had Sims 3 so I could check that out. xD)

Freeplay also has real babies with lots of gameplay. It's so crazy a mobile game has that but not TS4.

Some of the careers in The Sims app (not freeplay) even came years before on mobile before getting to the pc game such as the lawyer career for example.

that’s the thing though, how much money are they really making off of kids? all of the packs are overpriced, i’m highly doubtful these kids parents are going to look at these $40 game packs and buy them for their kids. they are making the most money off of their adult audience STILL, i own almost all of the packs and i’m completely livid with EA for what they’ve done to the game. i don’t know any adults who play with just the vanilla game, most of us have spent hundreds of dollars on expansion/stuff packs. they are losing the only money that matters if they continue to destroy the game, because at this point, we’re realizing the packs don’t do any justice and are just as boring as the game vanilla.

Totally agree with you. I don't get why they stopped. I played the Sims 1 and 2 as a kid, my parents knew how the game was and they never said anything. Like, it still is a game so why taking the humour off ? No one will be traumatized from it ...

YES. The broken "emotion" is the BIGGEST problem going on with the supposed fun and unique gameplay. They really should abandon this system completely and embrace the before version if they want to succeed in the first place of Sims 5

@Ann Ana Yah, playing Sims 3 now and when a visitor is at a door he or she will never go inside unless you click on a visitor and select "invite inside". Also, you have just a few options on a visitor, like greet and greet rudely with a few others. And when you greet a visitor, then you'll have more social options. So basic and so good.

In short, the problem with Sims 3 was not the open world or CAS... but the optimization itself. I hate how sims 4 simmers use the lack of open world or create a style in the sims 4 as "necessary" sacrifices just so that the sims 4 could run "properly."

@@taki1255 PvZ2 is a great game stuck on mobile devices with unfair balancing and Microtransactions, PvZ Garden Warfare, GW2, and Battle For Neighbourville are great third person shooters. PvZ3 is garbage and had a terrible soft launch, another mobile exclusive. Ever since EA bought Popcap, the only games they've been making are mobile games trying to get every cent out of you, the goal is no longer making high quality casual games.

@@lannamcf those packs don't compare to what other last game's EP's did for the game. Like, Island paradise is MILES ahead of island living if you think about it. Not only do you get everything that comes in island living, you get UNDERWATER ACTIVITIES, a whole RESORT MAKING EXPERIENCE, and much more like living in house boats or being a lifeguard

@@davidkonevky7372 Island Living and Island Paradise are different packs. They are similar in regards to they both take place on an island, have the ocean, beach activities, and mermaids. But the main themes are different. Island Paradise is about the underwater activities and resorts system whereas Island Living is about Island Life for the local Islanders. For those of us who live on an Island in the Pacific, Island Living is really fun. For me, Island Living is WAY BETTER than Island Paradise. The mermaids have POWERS, the Sims living in Sulani have a different CULTURE to the Sims in the other worlds which is very much like Island culture in real life, and there are FESTIVALS which are like neighbourhood gatherings very much like in real life. You can not have houseboats, but you can build your house out over the water which is much more like it is on the Islands. Houseboats are a tourist thing. Island Paradise is good for those who like the TOURIST aspect of islands, but Island Living is for those who want to LIVE on the Island.
