The "Please Don't Destroy" sketch seemed right out of Chappelle. I replayed it many times. I'm still laughing so hard tears roll down my face, just like watching Chappelle. Kelse didn't flub any lines, looked like he'd been doing this for yrs. I wonder if any of these sketches were this ideas?

I’m a major fan of what PDD brings to SNL. The way they get to bring in jump cuts and editing gives them the ability to make jokes and puns the live cast doesn’t have access to. They are a gem, please pay them more and keep them around for years to come (or unlease until they stop being funny)

I guess it's the connections that get you the opportunities than can seem pretty unfair to some but how many cast member hire stories have you heard where they got hired largely because they knew somebody.. Sad to say Lourne Michaels is out of touch. The cast is great. Writing is pretty funny, but most sketches fizzle. They have a funny idea that they drag out, and don't end strong. PDD is so fast paced, and keeps getting funnier as it goes. These dudes need their own sketch show. Like Tim Robinson's I think you should leave.
@blaze2001

@@nsnbc6093 yess if they shorten the sketches it wouldn't be so bad but they drag stuff out lol
@PigDan
@PigDan Жыл бұрын
@@nsnbc6093 FYI, a longer message here but I have stuff to add -- I don't know how a lot of the newer sketches even get off the ground because they're so flat IMO. I watch a good amount of it and give it a far go.. often I'm more impressed by the great set design (the crew must have to make it all so quickly) than the overall end result of any performance or jokes. Most would never make me laugh but maybe would work as successful entertainment. It's funny to say, but at the very worst the sketch makes me internally cringe or genuinely uncomfortable from the very poor execution or lack of any humor (countless examples, and I think it depends on who's the guest that week) but there are times where I can see a good idea pulled off well I think. As a positive, I think the shaking table sketch from a few weeks back was a highlight that was better than anything I've seen from SNL since I started watching and went back into its history and also absorbed a ton of interviews and all that. And I believe that's also that's an example of where character-breaking didn't hurt but rather enhanced a sketch, and the real-time physical comedy helped spice things up significantly and helped the performers and script shine. I know there's talent still there. I just don't know how much of the stuff that really isn't liked by a good portion of the audience gets through, lol. Also one of the worse trends with this show is that the writers sometimes seem to be plagiarizing ideas from other comedic shows rather than them being respectful homages or callbacks. It's like the writers go browsing on KZfaq during their writing days and just shamelessly think they'll never get caught or called out, or maybe it's a genuine unconscious pull from their memory and don't realize it. I think it's a shame. Overall there's enough performers in SNL's history I've found very talented and do very well on this show and after they leave, that I think it's worth tuning in to at least some to see the gems amongst some of the sketches that don't get pulled off so well -- rather than me being one of the countless comments that say it's never been good the last however many years.. but that's a personal opinion anyways. Also Weekend Update benefits, like this sketch, from being faster-paced too I think.. at least for the news jokes segment part.

Travis has been a favorite since he arrived in KC. He just has a way with people. I was surprised with regards to his acting. I was assuming there might be some hesitancy when saying his lines, sort of a, ahhhh or repeating a part of a line. He was flawless. His timing was impeccable. And I was wondering if he ad-libbed some of those lines after knocking out the students. Just sounds like something he would say. He started to laugh after the comments he said. My friends & I have rewatched that one sketch around 15-20 times since it aired. This is the 1st time I've even turned on SNL in yrs. Yes, I go back to getting together on Saturday nights, smoking the... ugh....funny stuff & having a great time. Thanks for the evening!
