This is just one part of why you should not work for CRST.

Guys let me give you some advice.Never go to a company sponsored CDL training school. They own you until your contract is up and your first year earnings will be lower because you owe them money. Go get your CDL on your own. Go to an independent trucker school and pay for it yourself. Save for it,sell off what you can, burrow from loved ones, or apply for a student loan or government grant.By already having your CDL prior to being hired you can walk into any company that hires new drivers and if you do not like what is going you can leave free and clear.Freedom. When you go to trucking school train on a manual transmission. When you pick a company demand a manual truck and trainer. Being qualified to drive both transmissions will give more job options. Get all your endorsements up front. Tanker, hazmat, doubles, triples, tow, and get your passport. Many smaller companies that pay well and require experience using manuals exclusively and if you do not have experience on those transmissions they wont hire you.Mountain driving and Oil fields jobs use 13 to 18 speed manuals. These jobs pay well if you have the skills and 1 to 3 years OTR experience.Do not limit yourself and your earning potential.Without multiple endorsements, a valid passport, and being able to drive a manual transmission, you are nothing more than a glorified Uber driver. If you decide to become an owner operator used manual semis are cheaper to buy and service. Maintaining your drivers license, your health, and medical certification is your responsibility NOT THE COMPANY YOU WORK FOR. Make a written note of the expiration date of your form, keep it on you at all times, inform the company BEFORE it expires, and make arrangements to get it renewed promptly. It is your livelihood. If your are interested in a company,do your own research, have a list of questions ready, and call the company. This can be a very well paying and satisfying career for some folks. This job can be tough and requires a strong work ethic. If you are lazy,do not want to drive to certain areas, want to go home all the time, and cannot self manage this is not the job for you. You are rookie. You have to learn how to drive the truck properly, fill out your e logs, and make deadlines. No one is going to hold your hand once you have gone through the initial training.I paid for my trucking school with cash up front. I was staying with my brother after I was laid off from my job. I sold my car, furniture, and left some items at my brothers house, graduated from trucking school, took a job and hit the road. I never turned down a load.I would call dispatch when I was an hour away from the terminal looking for nearby loads. My dispatcher respected me for that and took care of me. My first year I stayed out for 6 months before I went home. I came into this game to master it and put money in the bank. I made $49,000 my first year, saved $10,000 and helped out my mom. 15k above my last job.In my second year I took a Oil Tanker job with another company in another state and made $77,000 that year. With 2 years in trucking I tripled my annual salary. You have to be a self starter, hard runner, and willing to go where the good paying work if you want to be successful in this industry.Otherwise go work at Trader Joe's. Good luck.

NeverGiveUp NeverGiveIn blessings family. The only advice I would recommend is seeing if any other company will take you with no experience and a background. My cousin is going through the same thing. But it’s all a means to an end. Get what you need from whatever company and move on. Don’t pass up a opportunity because others had it rough. I’m sure it’s as bad as everyone is saying but we all have to do what we have to do to get where we want to be. At the end of the day, trust God and take his guidance. #Blessings.

Only you are responsible for knowing when your medical is expired, always renew it early. Co-drivers and especially trainers should always be there to help you,if not you can request a new one. As far as people not getting many miles there's a few slow months of the year you got to get through,on time pick up and delivery helps build your reliability as well. Best wishes to you.

Patricia Kirk I Completely understand that but it’s one thing when you’re told that in training they will remind you and also that you’re way across the United States and they know you need to shut down and they know your medically expired but they want you to run on a contract XPO load so they wanted me to push my load then head to my appointment when I got back to California and they already knew the date of when my medical expires so if they already knew the date they should’ve have set me up to get it done in the next day let me go.
