I'm currently 7 months and still at it. I'm 43 and I've wanted a baby but I was married to the wrong people. Ive been driving on and off for 14 years, so the years of being stressed about learning the ropes are over for me. My company went bankrupt two years ago so I decided to try the lease. I got on a dedicated route from CHI to MN and back and met the baby daddy who already had a baby momma and lied about it. In his defense when we first met I called him out on lying and he called me right back while he was on speaker phone and be told his family he didn't want to work things out anymore. They had been divorced three years and he's had two gf since and the family has always influenced him and baby momma would keep him hooked in. We dated for about four months he got on my route and we had a good time together and I even drove his truck when mine was down for repairs. I guess the pressure at home was too much. I got a driver appreciation vacation for $500 which we spent on a hot and heavy weekend and then we broke up because he wasn't making me official. I realized after two months that something was changing..I took pee tests and they came up negative and I had irregular bleeding. I started taking prenatals just in case and I gained 40lbs and a belly. I've been big before so I just rationalized it with stress and menopause and hormones and figured I was getting a trucker gut again 😆 Now I am looking for a place on my route because I've just been living in my truck. Minnesota gives you three months unpaid leave so I am working as much as I can to save up. I am 8 months away from paying off my truck but I would gladly sacrifice that for my baby. I haven't really told anyone at work because I haven't been able to confirm this officially but I have kept enough track of times and dates etc. I've stayed abstinent just to protect my baby. Checking out all my options on what I want to do as far as birth just preparing myself mentally for any situation. Educating myself on youtube as far as self care etc. The place I am hoping to get is on my route and five minutes from a truck stop and five minutes from a dealership. I just plan to put my truck in the shop cause it does need some work but is driveable. I just want a peaceful home birth in my bathtub but if I pop out on the road I have scoped out most hospitals and emts in most places will be able to get to me in a timely manner. Just praying a lot seeking God's guidance and doing my best. I don't care what comes out of me...imma love it. Fixing to get one of those fetal dopplers to listen in on what's going on inside 😊 I don't have much family support but I've lived my entire life independently not relying on people but if I do need help I know where I can go and I will ask. At five months I was due for a physical but I read online how a doc asked if he should cancel a pregnant woman's physical or limit it to 30 days. I showed up for my physical 15 min before they closed so that particular doctor just rushed me through the process and I'm good for two years. They used to always palpate your stomache for hernias and he just asked me if I had any stomache issues and I told him no. Just said I gained weight over the holidays. I was going to go to the free women's center to get an ultrasound and they said they needed a positive piss test. I found an imaging place that checked me for $40. The guy showed me my huge trucker bladder and my cervix and said..no baby...but it still didn't sit right with me. I showed pics of my belly to my friend who said I looked like I was carrying high. I'm 6 foot with a German build 260lbs now. I've also considered if I was just imagining shit. Well, I will know for sure in July. If there's a baby I'll have a place and money and if there's not I'll have a place and pay my truck off early. I haven't bothered letting baby daddy know. He's got his hands full with that jacked up fam 😅 If you've read all of this then I don't suggest to neglect any self care you seem necessary for yourself. Reach out to people who can guide you where to get resources. Listen to your intuition and do what you think is best for you for your mental emotional and physical health. This is just my story of many but in my due time I will tell it and become an advocate for pregnant women in trucking. For every one woman who speaks up there are probably hundreds who havent for fear of losing their job etc. If God keeps blessing me I would love to have my own little fleet to empower women and as CEO of my company I would offer paid leave and care in case of a pregnancy. Much love to all making sacrifices and pushing it out here to live your dream. God bless you ❤️

I definitely say if your pregnancy isn't high risk then go for it. Just be extra careful getting in & out of the truck( hold on the railing with dear life!) I would have continued but my stupid bd gaslighted the hell out of me to not work just to leave. So my instincts kicked in & at 6 months with my oldest I hopped right back on until I couldn't work anymore. I was starting to become difficult to get in & out

What do you do as a truck driver? Delivery? Do you have to lift anything heavy? I just got hired to do food delivery and will have to lift up to 90 lbs and am 4 months pregnant I was wondering if it’s doable bc I don’t want an abortion but I also can’t pass up this opportunity

Thanks for making this! I'm freshly pregnant and haven't even gotten on the truck yet, so I really need some insight right now. I'm sorry for your situation. I'm also abandoned by the baby's co-maker and you know what...I'm so independent, too, that I really just feel liberated to be able to make my decisions without his input. I've been working in the trucking industry my whole life. My family owned a repair shop, I owned my own trucking company and managed many more. I can tell you this woman does not have the mentality of a good truck driver! I'm not defending crst or gardener because I have a few drivers working for me that say it was a shitty company to work for but the things she's complaining about are things every driver has to deal with. I'm guessing they were using her medical as a way of weeding her out legally. Any driver worth his/her salt would be given a pass for a week overdue on medical while out on the road.
