I'm from Southport and remember Pleasureland when it was like this. Heartbreaking what happened but hopefully now the new owner has a more long-term lease the park can be brought back to its former glory.

I have some old footage of Pleasureland, one taken in May 1990. We even videoed riding on the "Jets" ride which was the one with the spaceman in the middle.

I took some photos of the Cyclone in November 2006 and when I went back the next day the thing had gone. Absolutely criminal.

And sad to think that 5 years later, the old big dipper would be torn down. A tragic, if not criminal loss to the Southport waterfront.

Great footage. Wish I could travel back in time and experience the park when it was like this. Only visited it like once when it was like this when I was younger. Shame BPB ran it into the ground

4:37 That Dinosaur sadly got destroyed in an arson attack, and from what I have read on Wikipedia, there was another fire, not long after, destroying the Haunted inn.

Omg this brought back so many memories and we enjoyed it so much more than Blackpool. It’s a shame they’ve taken Morecambe’s fairground down now aswell.
