Purchased the twin blonde Tone Master a couple of months ago. First time using at band practice I didn’t tell bandmates I had a new amp. It was running direct (XLR) as we practice through mixer system with everyone on headphones. After two songs our singer asks what did I do to my tone, it sounds amazing. Right there I was glad I invested in the Tone Master. It replaced another solid state amp, which is very good in it’s own right, but just couldn’t get that Fender tone. As good as it sounds direct, it’s even better through the celestions. The sound is one thing, but the attenuation and direct out make it so practical. It’s more pricy than comparable SS amps, but worth the extra $$.

Kenny, well done. Your point on the bass in Fender amps is so right on. Many people just turn bass up and it mushes out badly especially at louder volume. The whole trick with Fender amps is less bass (3-4) and more treble (as much or as little as you like). I set my amps like Kenny does except I’m a treble guy so I use it at about 6 with single coils and 7-8 for humbucking pickups. Then you can turn up and the amp doesn’t mush out. Pedals sound more the way they should with less bass and a moderate amount of treble, imho. Good vid!

Kenny’s demo is right on! I finally got to try one of the black Tonemaster Twin Reverbs at a Guitar Center and it had perfect tone and feel. I own vintage Fender tube amps of every size for different venues and prefer them over other brands I also own. The Tonemaster did what I wish my old amps would do on a good day. Just perfect to me. I’ll be getting both a black and a blonde.

Who better to give advice on dialing in a good guitar sound than Kenny Greenberg. A very humble and cool guy but a monster guitar player! I can’t seem to get my strat to sound like this.....thick and ballsy with a nice shimmer on the top. I love the sound of this Tonemaster Deluxe as well but you also have a very talented guitar player playing thru it. Attenuating the sound and volume is the key, getting the tone you need to sound good and not blasting eardrums all over the room. Great video with great advice. More with Kenny.....please!

I have a thought: Compare a Tonemaster to its tube counterpart. That is, TM Deluxe Reverb to the tube Deluxe reverb. Note any differences if you want. But, judge the Tonemaster amp on its own. Does it sound real good as an amp? Put it through its paces. If it sounds good or great it does not need a comparison to any other amp.

What about a Marshall Stack?
@horsevinyl
@horsevinyl 3 жыл бұрын
@@adamziolkowski2549 I' d rather prefer to play the Marshall clean and use stacked pedals, different stages of gain and boost for leads. You also can run your reverb and delay in front of the amp. Of course if you can turn it up to breakup it sounds better. Therefore a attenuator is a good thing. Nowadays there are fantastic reactive loads. If you are old school and work with guitars volume you can get a great sound you don't get otherwise. But you need some volume. It is the reaction between moved air and guitar what brings the magic not so much the "distortion". I still say the best sound is not to dime your amp to the max. Think Angus, about 12 or 1'o clock and hit it with a boost or overdrive, your bass response stays tight. Eddie is different, but he's different from us all, isn't he?
