fantastic video thanks. When to use the plunge turn or the regular groove operation?

I use plunge turning when I can cut sideways with a grooving tool and groove operations when I need the tool to plunge only in the ‘X’ axis on a lathe. Mastercam groove cycles allow for variable depths to be defined when needing to plunge allowing you to adjust how much material is taken away in the ‘X’ axis at a time.
