When I conceived my BMI was 50, I was aged 23. I conceived first try with donor sperm at home. The sperm was from an anonymous donor & had been couriered fresh in a plastic pot for over 2 hours with a heat pack. I had no issues & gave birth full term to a healthy 8lb girl. At age 37 I tried again but it didn't happen. My conclusion is that age is the main factor.

I know this video is a bit older but I just had to say thank you. I have been stressing and dieting and feeling hopless. My doctor said the same thing to me and I thought that this dreaded number on my bathroom scale was going to prevent me from starting a family. Really needed to hear this. My hubby and I have been trying for 6 years, everyone says lose weight. Well, I knew going in what my body does, even with starvation it would take almost a year. Plus, no one gets it I feel. I eat perfectly healthy and work outs are many a day. Nothing happens! Only muscles lol well back to what's up, in 6 weeks we do our first IVF with ICSI. We are a bundle of emotions, but it does not help that every empty moment of conversations with our doctor ius filled with me having to lose weight, really? With the hormones alone I can say crying us a new beauty regime as a facial at this point. I should be happy, but having my weight be poked and prodded, talked down to and actually have my doctor roll her eyes when even my hubby defends my lifestyle. This 6 foot 138 lbs frame says I live healthier then he could ever, I love him ♥. When you have to trust a stranger with your future family, you should want a positive experience not this. Thanks for the talk, I might have to replay it a few hundred times over the next few months! Lol thanks again!

I had my first child at 32, got preg within the month. In May at 36 i got preg straight away within the month. From my first preg i had gdm, it didnt go away. At 5wks i had a CM, i am slimmer than i was back then 105kg, now i am 65kg. The weight isnt an issue, niether is age though with age fertility does decline. My conclusion is diabetes maybe though i am in remission. Im thinking its more stress, anxiety and lack of sleep. I have been trying for 2m now and negative. Probably my bodys recovering from the miscarriage i had 2m ago.

im a plus size women as well and my docyor tried telling me the same thing about my weight. my fiance and i have been trying for 9 months now for our first baby and no such luck. Im at the stage now where Im starting to think my doctor was right. Any advice to get pregnant?

I was EXTREMELY lucky and conceived my baby (due in November) on the first try, I have however been dealing with the doctor's concerns regarding my weight. I have never had any health issues due to my weight, but my doctors have been extremely rude and judgemental. So stressful!!!

I find doctors very rude at times! I am 6ft tall and I am 16st, but I hold it well! the doctor made my pregnancy check up basically all about my weight and she assumed that I was an unhealthy eater, and didn't exercise as she had leaflets for me on how to eat well and look at self help websites for diet and how to exercise well in pregnancy... so i had and i mean HAD to stop her in her tracks and tell her i eat very well, extremely well in fact, and i exercise daily and she was so shocked... she couldn't believe that i was saying these things and i was over weight! she couldn't quite grasp the fact that i had actually changed my lifestyle since being pregnant. they can be extremely rude and its highly offensive when you're not even given the chance to explain anything. best tip is to stay healthy during pregnancy (obviously), and just ignore the doctors.. unless theres obviously problems. :)
