Ive never been tempted by a Sailor pen, but this one really caught my attention. I love the theme. I dislike pale inks but I understand why this one was selected for this gift set. It reminds me a bit, of Troublemaker Abalone which is a dry ink in that color range. I DO like that notepad. How nice to get that as part of the set!

Yeah! This pen is so nice!! I love feeling the design on the barrel! :D The ink is gorgeous, honestly, it's a rare shade of blue grey that I don't have in my collection. I do wish it was more saturated though! I'll need to find myself this exact shade or similar with more saturation. I think I will have to try this ink out on less absorbent paper and in a broader nib of course. The notebook is so cute!

Your timing is perfect! I’ve had my eye on this pen and trying to decide between it or a different Sailor! I’m also a winter baby, in fact I was born in the first day of winter , so winter is My season! Now you have a new subscriber!

@@KenchanKrafts Goulet has an exclusive Northern Lights Blue that is gorgeous! Unfortunately they’re sold out to ef and f nibs! I might still try to get one but I feel like I MUST have this one so I contacted a shop that’s expecting some next week so hopefully I will have one before Valentine’s Day!

Enjoy your new acquisition! It certainly is lovely and does look wintry and I agree with you, silver hardware seems more appropriate with the icy vibes.

Thank you, Tina! 🙏 I’m thrilled and overly happy whenever I’m looking at the blue finials next to the icy grey white body. It’s not something I’d instantly gravitate towards but I knew this color combination would be something I’d enjoy when I first saw it and I was right about it!

I'm not sure if they'll make yearly winter holiday pen, but they do seem to make nature themed pens a lot haha! I still think the Japan exclusives that are season themed tend to look more beautiful - but this universal pen is quite pretty as well! What are the Sailors on your wishlist? :)

Yeah! The ink is quite lovely! I will try it out in my favorite Leonardo Mother of Pearl pen with the stub nib! That will definitely show off the unique characteristics and color of this ink. I'm excited!

I'm happy to hear you agree, too! Too pale for daily journaling, but perhaps better in a stub or to add highlights to darker inks on a journal spread.

I love the design of the pen, but I agree about the ink coming out too light in that size. Inks that are very light seem more geared towards art instead of writing.

I wonder if Sailor and folks who enjoy writing with very thin nibs just tend to write smaller or slower to allow the ink to fully showcase its darker shades. Because I wouldn't peg Sailor for creating inks used for art, although, you can basically use any ink for art. I ended up putting Kobe Hyogotsu History Blue in it, which i had mentioned in the video, and I love it :D

the nib and feed themselves can be twisted to line up with the pattern, i always do that do make sure the sides are in line with the injection lines of the grip section (as faint as they are) also haha! i'm absolutely a MF with dry and pale ink lover 😅 i write small enough that wet inks are hard to control and even super pale colours show up in the darker colours of their swatches ^^; i loved watching! i'll definitely going to be keeping an eye out for this on sale if i can ^^

You know, I really appreciate you sharing your personal tastes and experience around dry and thin nibs with dry inks! I had not thought about how smaller writing might actually work better with a dry ink/pen combination because you're essentially applying ink in a small area, therefore, there's less area for the ink to have faded colors and shading. I will apply this knowledge to my future videos when I discuss dry and wet inks! ♥There's a pen and ink combination for every writer :D I love that! I hope you do find a sale, this pen is so cute and gorgeous and would be perfect for you! As for the nib and feed...I'm always afraid to ruin my beloved Sailor pens. I will need to try it out on my less favored Sailors before I try it out on this one.

I think it's something that easily (and understandably!) gets not thought about, I had the reverse of not understanding why wet inks seemed to be preferred if the ones I was using were considered dry haha! I think it's also worth mentioning that Japanese is written with a lot of small strokes, and so I can imagine paler colours are more readable for Japanese writers, I know I can write pretty large in Japanese and it be just as readable as my much smaller English writing 🤔 I definitely understand being hesitant about the nib! if it's any assurance, I take the nib and feed out of mine to clean them fully. though i can also see stranger on the internets opinion not really helping when something is precious like that too! I'd feel the same!

Hey there! So happy to have you here, thank you for your support! ^_^ My ink binder is an Eeveelution binder - bought from Amazon. It came with Pokemon card sleeves, which I just used for these Wearingeul swatch cards! It was just 20 dollars for the binder and enough empty sleeves to hold over 500 swatch cards :) You can choose any design on Amazon. If you're not into Pokemon designs, you can probably buy any binder you'd like and take out the sleeves from these Pokemon binders :) The Wearingeul swatch cards can be bought from EndlessPens for 6 dollars for 100 cards. You can also buy them from Atlas Stationers - which has other designs (50 sheets for $5). You can use my code LAO10 for 10% off. But wait until tomorrow to use my code if you buy from Atlas!
