Back to back weekends of early Xmas specials featuring three LMS locos was looking good on paper and should provide some good action though late running on both weekends and diesel assistance marred most of the scenes especially with 46115 Scots Guardsman. Black Fives 45231 & 44871 put on much better shows than their class 7 counterpart 46115 especially 44871 which was the pick of the bunch.
As we near the end of a disappointing year on the mainline for ourselves we look forward to our two final outings with Clun Castle at the start of December and then we can look towards the new year with optimism.
