After 20+ years, i'm getting back into the hobby of building RC cars and here is a short video of what I did to a clone of a TT-01 chassis that I bought cheap from Amazon. More detailed videos to follow, including driving it.

As everyone else is saying in the comments, thank you for doing this review. I've been split on getting this for a rally car build, and as far as I'm concerned anything is better than the hard plastic you get in a Tamiya model. That glossy plastic Tamiya uses makes it look like any old cheap toy, and not like an actual RC. But this is not too bad from what I can see, and as for the coilover shocks... I go with performance spec anyway on any RC I own. Sweet, and thanks again 👍

Word of advice, the pin holding down the spur gear can fly out, it happened to me and it completely hashed the spur gear on its way out. I since ditched the carbon chassis and switched over to the TT-02R which I will make a video about very shortly :)

@@LutzMowinski thank you for the advice. But, can I use original parts of tamiya TT01 on this PMM chasis?
@LutzMowinski3 жыл бұрын
@@halimhashim3704 yes, you can, pretty much everything fits, and the carbon upper deck is handy for mounting receivers and gyros if needed.

Thank you for this review! Waiting for mine to arrive. I got a tt01 stock and body post towers are different. Whats the part number you order to replace those ugly aluminum ones? I got the post already but not the towers. Thanks again!

The rear diff has missing ball bearing, the size is 105zz. That cause the wobble in the rear spur gear and drive cup...

No, there were ball bearings in there, I put them there, still didn't help unfortunately.

I have the same car. Is your car okay now? Do you have any good experience with this car?
@LutzMowinski2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I found out the hard way that there was too much play in the driveshaft, lost the pin that holds the spur gear and shredded it in the process. I have since taken out all the electronics, disassembled the entire car and went with an XPress XQ2S

How’s the car now ? Any damages ? The diffs are ok?

After the pin flew out that secures the spur gear, I shelved it and switched over to a TT-02R which I will make a vid about very shortly.

Thanks for the reply :) I was considering buying this chassis

How many mm of ground clearance is there
@LutzMowinski2 жыл бұрын
It was about 10mm I think. I never took exact measurements and now I also can't anymore.

So the chassis costs more than a tamiya tt01 with low quality parts that have to be changed. 🤔 Tt01 is about 90€ so cheaper an better? Why buying the fake one? Just because of the blue hopups?
@LutzMowinski3 жыл бұрын
Originally I bought it simply because it looked cool, then because it was lighter and stiffer than the standard chassis. After a while though the fit and finish began to show its flaws and after shredding the spur gear I was done with it.
