EASY | NO SEW Upholstery Cushion

How to make and upholster a professional looking seat cushion, even if you're a beginner. No sew! That means no sewing machine or special tools required. The only tools you'll need are scissors and a stapler. I also show you how to create clean and modern box pleat upholstery corners on fabric or leather.

I never made a video, but I do understand all the time and work involved. So with that said, thank you for this wonderfully produced video, especially the second half explaining the corner fold.

I made a sewing stool with hinged lid using similar method at school 45 years ago. However I drilled two large holes to allow the foam to recover its shape after sitting on it . I used a ribbon and upholstery domed pins instead of staples and lined the centre with a duster . You’ve still produced a great job.

You need to add a hole in bottom board to vent the trapped air.

Yes! Good point. That would help with the slow deflation when I sit on tje cushion

I saw that too and was about to ask the same question. A hole in the bottom board to vent the trapped air sounds like a good, simple solution.

Great video. If one decides not to attach the cushion to the bench, is there a risk of the staples scratching the top of the bench? If so, how does one mitigate this?

At 2:40 it sounds like you start to bring up a tip for if you're using slippery material for the cover, but then the line after that got cut in post. If so, would you be up for sharing what that was?

What you’ll want to do if the material is slippery is use some type of an adhesive- Most people use a spray type adhesive- to glue the foam unto the material so it stays in place. Pretty sure that’s what she was probably gonna say. Speaking from experience. I hope that helps.
