i wish poa was easier to identify. i live in canada, but i was thinking of getting tenacity in the usa - it's banned here in canada. right now in spring i see some lighter green patches all over.

Tenacity won't do anything to POA Triv. The only herbicide labeled to control it is the newly released Velocity.

@@GirLzLawn -- arghh truth hurts. i think you can identify triv with a redish stock. annua doesn't have a reddish stock. at least this way someone knows what they are in for. pre emergent or getting on their hands and knees.

My theory is excessive dethatching and aerating that YT has brought on. Most home lawns don't needs this done if anything once every years if that. The more you disturb soil the greater the chance of bringing the unwanted to the light

Makes sense. I think mine originally came from the first aeration and seeding. Before I knew what I know. Once disturbed it’s definitely a battle.

How old is your house? Could there be more debris in your yard?

The house is a new build and just about 4.5yrs old. What I believe happened is that the contractors did not remove the excessive rock. Initially, our floor plan was supposed to be flipped and on our visit over there to check on the status of the build, I remember seeing a whole pile of rocks in this area. So when they decided to flip our floor plan, they didn’t move those rocks out of there very well.
