How about cover it with that lid for keeping your microwave clean? Not sure what it's called. Could that help too?

Just did an egg for one minute and it exploded. 90 seconds would have exploded long before then...

He warns us about the egg exploding but doesn't actually go into meaningful detail as how to avoid it. "don't overcook your egg". GREAT ADVICE, THANKS. So like.. I should shake my finger at my microwave and sternly tell it not to overcook my egg?? I think that would depend on cooking time and heat setting, would it not? Is he saying that at 90 seconds it will sometimes explode and sometimes it won't? wow
@JasonBolte Жыл бұрын
Microwaves all vary in power so help me understand, How would you explain it better?
@eggfinallap Жыл бұрын
@@JasonBolte well for starters you could say what cooking time you used when yours exploded
@JasonBolte Жыл бұрын
I showed cooking it nearly 90 seconds. Specifics are a little irrelevant considering microwaves vary. I understand what your saying though.
@eggfinallap Жыл бұрын
@@JasonBolte not if you used the same microwave both times. In that case it comes down to: cooking time. heat setting. water amount. (barring miscellaneous techniques like adding salt or vinegar, poking egg w fork, etc.) Your rebuttal basically amounts to, giving specifics is pointless since microwaves vary, and they are a strange and new technology, so we all have to just figure it out on our own.

Mine exploded at 58 seconds. It was room temperature water. The water was about an inch higher that the water. I used a small water-cup so the egg was snugged at the bottom. It worked for me before so many times at around 45 seconds, but for some reason I wanted a medium cooked, so I though 10 more seconds wouldnt hurt. End of the story I couldnt eat eggs for about a week after cleaning the mess and smelling the eggs.

The first and last time I tried this, it exploded. You wouldn't believe how violently, how loud, and without any warning (I figured if I watched it, I could see some danger sign and turn it off--but there was no sign. It was just sitting there for less than a minute and BOOM! The container it was in, jumped up and hit the top of the microwave.

I would cautiously do a minute at a time and check them for how cooked they are. I know they will start to pop, usually before they explode.

Hard to fathom why you did not state the wattage power of your microwave. The higher the wattage, the less the time needed. Yes, ovens vary but you are supposed to be providing a guide.

Mine exploded before 1 minute. I think we should start with 30 seconds and then add increments of 10 seconds until the egg is to our liking, soft, medium or hard.

Your bowl or container should have been at least 2x the depth of the egg. The water should be room temperature and cover the egg about 1 inch. Then you overcooked it. Maybe try to actually learn how to do something before you try to teach it to others.

Many moons ago in the previous millennium when microwaves were first invented... My dad's friend decided to heat up a soft boiled egg in the company's microwave. When he removed it from the microwave it blew up in his face. He wasn't hurt, he just had egg of his face, pun intended.

Wooh. Crazy how a soft object like that wants to explode when being heated. Thanks for the warning!
