TV/final tables are so weird. whenever a player goes all in, both players or EVERYONE just leaves the table to go walk around for a minute. then the dealer pretends to take a long time touching the chips/cards or just sitting there like a lump while they await the instruction to deal the board.
@6thwilbury2331
@6thwilbury2331 10 ай бұрын
Haha 100% right.... and that pause feels even more awkward when you're there. On TV, it's not as bad because the camera is showing you other things. It's particularly strange at the WPT final tables because the crowd noise largely cools a bit during the wait between cards. But when you watch the telecast, the crowd sound is added in post and the pause is shortened. In these WSOP broadcasts, it becomes evident just how long the wait is.

What's funny is both Jones and Weinman had been playing tight and passive, with Walton kind of running over them. The result was Walton got overconfident and shoved unnecessarily expecting Weinman to fold as usual. His first real misstep and he paid the ultimate price. I doubt Jones can come back from the 2/1 stack differential, playing a passively as he has been. Unless Weinman pulls a Walton, or runs card dead, Weinman has got it.

There are more things going on in the hand than you think. Table image is huge at this point in the trny. I don't hate the shove, me personally I'm not going to do it because of how deep it is, but it was an excellent spot with massive fold equity so I can't hate it. Also Walton is ranked 890 in the world in DPI so he knows better than both of us. He was by far the most impressive player at the final table in my opinion. Dude was soal reading Weinman all trny, it's possible that Weinman gave him a false tell who knows. I had both players on my radar since day 2 when they were both less than 1m in chips.

@todd-tl9tr Saying "There's more things going on than I think" is a bad read by you because I play and understand poker. I don't know why you can assume either of us can't judge a better player when they make a bad decision either. That's like saying I can't say Tom Brady threw a bad interception because Tom Brady is a better qb! So, logically we aren't on the same wavelength at the moment. If you want my opinion on why Walton jammed: I think the spot where Walton had 77 where Weizmann had aq and hit the river was in Waltons psychology somewhat, along with obviously more variables. I only saw the highlights. Regardless, it was an unnecessary jam considering ICM aspect alone. You can like the play, I don't like it.

Walton came in with a game plan and it needed to avoid someone picking up an ultra premium hand. It's a fine strategy, just didn't work out. People should talk more about Weinman getting the cards he needed at this final table and he took advantage. Walton didn't punt as much as he went in not scared of third and hoped the others were.

I don't play poker, just watch it so I have a question for those who do. Should Weinman's raise have looked like a squeeze play to the other two players and was it a squeeze play just to get heads up with pocket aces?

He wanted to scoop the 5 million in blinds, idk why you would shove here though when you could just do 50 million bet after the 26 million bet and if he reshoves then fold would be appropriate. Most people would say this is bad play with the 88s

So let’s say he just calls, because are you going to fold to a potential squeeze three handed with 8s? Then the pot is 72M, he has 170 still. Flop comes 3 5 7, perfect flop for 88 against potential squeeze. His opponent bets 28M or so, does he just call and let a squeeze draw out on the turn against his best flop? No, he probably would reraise to at least 70M or shove. I don’t see how with the sizing from the pre flop raise of 10 BB, it really sets this flop up to be fireworks that I find it hard for someone with 88 to get away from
