Can you do a video slowing down that sewing pattern as a how to video please? Is that book cloth or paper you covered the whole thing with? To me the black looks like paper whereas the cream looks like book cloth. I’ve just doing a basic stitch almost like Coptic stitch, sort of. I’d love to learn more.

Hello, for that book the cover is book cloth + card on the inside cover. I think you possibly might find this video easier to follow here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ouBkeZVyz57Gio0.htmlsi=XCzy4y9TBPrOPfTE

@@createmistakes I used that video to make the ones I’m making now but the stitching in this video is a bit more complex and I’d like to try it but you go so fast that I don’t know exactly what to do. For the cover, I’ve just been using paper. I used book cloth on my case binding but I don’t enjoy that as much because of how long it takes and how difficult it is to get right every time. Plus I’m out of heat and bond for book cloth. I should get more and make some cool book cloth for these books. On the design, did you just glue covered chip board? Is that how you made it?

@@koalafan1576 I use PVA glue but be careful not to saturate the chipboard. You could try slowing down the video, if you’re watching on the app you can click on the cog looking icon, then click on playback speed and select a slower speed. You will probably find that the more books you make the easier you will find it to do the stitching. Most of the patterns are basically, start in the middle of the spine and work your way down to the bottom corner. Then work your way from the bottom corner to the top corner. Then finally work from the top corner to the middle. The patterns I used in my videos are all patterns I came up with (apart from the one in the tutorial video) by playing around with different hole positions. I’m sure you will get the hang of it eventually. Possibly stop the video and take a note of where the holes are and copy the placement. Once you have the holes in place it’s just the case of following the steps I was talking about earlier. I hope I was able to help a little. Tbh I haven’t made a book in a long time and this video isn’t very well made tbh.

May I ask, what is the material you used for the cover, is it canvas?
