Poco F1 - How to Unlock Bootloader & Install TWRP Recovery
Hey folks, this is sameer and in today’s video I am going to how you a step by step guide to unlock the boot loader of Poco f1 and how to install twrp recovery. Now this is the simplest method that you can follow in order to unlock the bootloader of poco f1 and the best thing is that if you follow this method correctly you can unlock your bootloader in just 5 minutes and you also don’t have to wait for the permission.
So, don’t skip the steps and watch it till the end. So now without any further ado let start.
Now before we get started make sure your device is almost 60 % charged and you should also backup all your data as it will erase all the data from your device internal storage.

@@mitafs I'm thankful for the video, it saves a lot of time, but still, I was under the impression that this method entailed not having to wait the 72 hours.. but alas. So the video is great! However the title can be misleading. I don't see the issue with asking to change the title to something with less potential to confuse ppl, which is helpful to other ppl like me. The remark also does not state he/she is not thankful, though the way you formulate your comment, you seem to imply it is?? While the original intent could be nothing but wanting to help his fellow pocophone owner not have this feeling of disappointment I have right now :'( 3 more days of poco-phone-home

@@frydac if you can please don't be sad or depressed, you can prepare for what to do next, I used the time to hack my snes mini so it could run playstation games, and wow it's brilliant now, Not only PSX but sega master system mega drive snes nes Atari 2600 neo Geo mane and even some N64 games and more, only down side is you have to download all the bios files, if you need the link for the KZfaq video please let me know,

i faced two issues, its really just dumb of me but i'll share it here incase others are stuck as well, 1. it cannot copy the item because the device has either stopped responding or it has been disconnected. - basically there is an option under the notification bar on your poco phone there is this USB connection notification that allows you to change the settings of the type of connection, change it from USB charging this device to transfer files and you shld be able to drop the files into the internal storage 2. create a single folder and just dump all the downloaded files into the file TWRP files no extract SDK Tools extract, follow the steps in the video, do not create individual folders and group them seperately into eg. twrp file or sdk and save the respective downloads into the seperate folder names, just lump them together. For my case, in the powershell window, i had to type ./fastboot devices with the key here being the ./ to enable the command lines to work it has to be infront of fastboot, if you type fastboot itself it's not going to work i dont know why. yeap thats basically the two problems i faced, pretty dumb but hopefully it'll help someone!

I did everything right but the command window says fastboot is not a valid command no matter how hard I try. My Poco F1 is unlocked, I authorized the USB debugging tried on my laptop and Windows computer and the same happens.. what do I do to make my computer find my Pocophone? Did the fastboot command change? I'm lost here help me please ..what are the device drivers you mentioned to reinstall?

When I plug the usb-c cable into my device, like you are doing at 2:25, the screen turns almost completely black (except for a small text in the top left corner saying "y key to shut down" (the "Press an" part is probably not visible due to the rounded edges of the screen)). Have been Googling a bit myself and found that you have to unpack the unlock tool in a subfolder of your C: partition. This solved the issue. However now I get the message "Couldnt unlock. After 52 hours of trying to unlock the device". Any suggestions are welcome.

If you get ViPER Audio (ViPER4Android) in this phone and tweak the in-app settings it has, you will have a *much* better quality, and a higher volume if you want to. I've tried on my F1.

Tips if you're stuck: 1) Disable any PIN/fingerprint before you start 2) You can load up the DisableForceEncryption (and the latest Magisk, it just comes in handy) zip files into an actual physical SD card before you start 3) The current "unofficial" TWRP (2 OCT 2018) image does not support physical SD cards, but this fixed TWRP image fixes the problem so flash this instead. Download at forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77587044&postcount=119 (Note this information may be outdated depending on when you're reading this) 4) If the first thing you see in TWRP is a password prompt, go cancel and go to the main menu. From the main menu go wipe data as seen in the video. This will clear up the encryption for now. 5) If you flashed the fixed TWRP image you should be able to see your flashable zip files inside the SD card (install zip > select storage). Flash those zip files.

there is an option in the 'mount' section of TWRP to 'disable MTP' MTP is the file transfer system. If you disable and then re-enable it, the phone should show up on your PC

Hey, actually I tried doing it. With mi unlock using PC. Followed all your steps, it got to 99% and then showed, "couldn't unlock", I'm using the beta ROM with Android pie. Is it because of beta ROM or something else?

According to what I've read (as far as I remember) in XDA, that's OK, it's wrongly translated. You have to wait three days from the moment you got that _couldn't unlock_ message, then repeat the process of unlocking the F1 and it'll be definitely unlocked instead of popping that message.

twrp asking for password i didnt care and selected read only then made back up but after reboot no back found and i wiped my device. file manager not opening cant transfer rom into phone . what now

maybe u use a micro sd? put the rom there
