Hey I just want to say I'm loving how you are reviewing the bows!!! Much more informative than the typical run of the mill bow reviews.
@tracycalder93686 ай бұрын
I love your reviews because they provide measurable data as compared to what the manufacturer is claiming PLUS provision of subjective data based on your cumulative experience shooting and building hundreds of bows. Very VERY informative; high value to new and experienced shooters. Thanks!

What about adding in the shortest draw speeds of these short draw bows,
@davidtbowen80195 ай бұрын
Ok. Grade it on the advertised specs. Not what you think they could do. It weighed 3.9 5/5 for your grading. Please be consistant. Love the content. Keep it coming.

In 100% honesty a so called “women’s” bow gets all of my attention. They are badass. And will kill anything with how efficient they are these days.

Thank you for explaining the grains and speed thing I wasn't complaining or nothing but I love when I learn those lil things like 10 hrs per in equals this much speed usually.... I love that bow and the new core models as well I'm more into the 31 in, I shoot a Mathews now but maybe switching when I get to buy a bow here someday when it's dad's turn for a new toy!

8:29 Josh, I've shot the SR cam at 27" and 28" ....the hump doesn't go away, so it's not a maximum draw length characteristic, it's just there and that's okay. Like you said, you get used to these draw cycles after a dozen arrows.

Fantastic video, thank you for the content. Please make a review of the Bowtech reckoning gen 2 SD! No one single review on KZfaq about the SD, just the medium and long cams.

Bought a Mathews Prima for my wife. 23.5” draw 50 lbs. She shoots a 500 spine Victory RIP that is cut so short that it looks like a crossbow bolt. With 125 gr points it’s 350 grains. It was the perfect hunting bow for her. For indoor target she shoots a Hoyt Sapphire and aluminums. Not many good options at 23”. Most are lower quality bows with huge spongy cams. For ages the only high quality option was a Hoyt target bow for very short draw lengths. I think most men that are honest about their draw length will find that these women’s bows perform much better.

you were getting quite a big spike in the vibration reading just drawing the bow back. the 2nd shot jumped to 979 just on the draw back, where the first shot peaked at 929 for the actual shot itself. just something to be aware of with that particular test

my buddys bowteck cracked the limb pocket when he did that my Realm has had 3 cracked limb pockets from just shooting. no way id buy that bow after that pop my heart skipped a beat when I saw this lol kills me watching you draw these bows without an arrow in it. I have seen that same scale break at a shop and dry fired the bow. other then that seems like a sweet bow looking at one for my wife..

I commented on another reviewer and I am a 62 year old man that has lost a lot of strength. So this now would be perfect for me probably in the milder setting for a tad more valley. Would love one in camo or black. Now to find someone who knows how to set up a bow properly and see if I can scrape up the money for one. I have a prodigy to sell to help pay for one of these. I just think as I get even older, it would be nice to have a bow I can go backwards a bit with if needed. I am pretty much done deer hunting, so this would just be backyard and maybe some 3D shoots.

I think the arrows should be bareshaft-shot through the Hostage rest. Those brushes may be slowing down the arrows when the vanes come into contact with them. I noticed on a few arrows, your vanes weren't oriented with the cock vane perfectly straight up. Vane contact with the brushes would affect the speed.

You really need to zero the vibration tester after you draw the bow.
@rhysgregson22939 ай бұрын
Doesn't it only record the most about of vibration?
@pre_ban_andy9 ай бұрын
@rhysgregson2293 yes, but one of the previous videos I watched, I saw it peak on the draw and then the shot was less. Honestly, I think that test is of very little use. Vibration in terms of felt hand shock is pretty subjective.

Looking for a faster short draw (25”) bow than my solution SD. I’m getting 255fps on comfort at 25”dl/70lbs and 380gr arrows. Based on your 29”/60lb 350gr arrow speed results, is it safe to assume my SD is faster?

Get what you pay for; Bowtech does offer all the tuneability features, Hoyt and Mathew (unless they are releasing such product for 2024) do not. While a MAP of $1199 might seem high relative to others, given the GripLock, the TimeLock, and the DeadLock systems, this bow deserves at least a 4/5 on price.

Josh did i miss it somewhere why you switched to the 29" draw length on this review rather than 25" like all the other "ladies" bows

Would a short draw bow be more efficient at like 27.5 in draw than one with a longer draw length cam at the same poundage and lengths IE eva vs core sr?

Hello from Australia MFJJ!. THANK YOU for all you do on these videos sir. It has helped me a bunch. I have a bowtech / epsilon question for you. The cable holding system on bowtechs that attaches to the riser is giving me grief when trying to fine tune my vertical on my epsilon. Just running an original revolt. I recently just bought the rest, upgraded from a qad drop away. Just wondering if you do that side of things in a certain way, cause boy it is frustrating to get that Allen key into the hole while the rest is mounted. New to tuning my own bow and thought I would try and get a pointer or two from you. Thank you sir.
@michaelc18399 ай бұрын
I don't know what you actually call the thing I'm referring to. But it has the two little metal wheel rollers that the cables run through. That thing 😂
@michaelc18399 ай бұрын
Also some knots, if you could do a video on knots you prefer. My bow shop fella had never heard of a prusik knot, he just tied things his way, which looks similar to a prusik but it isn't.

You and Tim need to jet over to Australia for an outback hunt, mate. Get Tim to spot you the airfare lol.. I really wish we had some kind of TAC event here. Really wanting to head over to the states just for a TAC event next year. Shame we aren't as keen for it over here. Or just not organised enough. Backwards upside down country of mine.

I can’t see why everyone is so concerned about the vibration, when a bow hunter is drawing down on a nice animal you could be holding a weed whacker and not give a hoot, all these new bows are pretty vibration free, lol

Really not sure why they made the Gen 3 28" a to a. THIS woman is not looking for that short of a bow! Seems like more of a kid's size now! Won't be trading in my Gen 2 on it, that's for sure!

Bow comes factory with weights to make it perform as advertised. Weight should account for bow package. Same with hoyt, these bow companies are trying to get away with false weights and performance by doing test with an uncomplete bow. Just give it to us real world. For real, if you do that for everything then you could save time and do t need an explanation
@joeditz489 ай бұрын
But you don't need the dampers on the bow.... some people leave them off, other people add more. So the company is going to give you the bare weight, then what you add is up to you
