Wow! So powerful. Poe is a performer like no other. So raw and honest. I have chills. This expresses so much of how I feel. And it's so relevant with all this election stuff. How do you survive when the winners are willing to go so far beyond the threshold of human decency? How do you become anything but a victim? I wish Poe were singing this everywhere right now.

i heard this on the radio the first time they played it (as far as i know, the only recording of it was in the 101x radio studio in austin). havent been able to find a studio version.

WOW. again The Cello, with the harmonics, and later with the legato lines... The Bass waits just long enough, the Electric guitar, preying in the distance, only to get fat and conquer... great band, great song. great performance... Oh yeah.. She manages to sing the shit... I've been singing this song to myself for 20 years

How this woman was treated by the music industry was criminal. Poised on the verge of superstrdom, she was put on a shelf and unable to even use her name (how like Prince, eh?). Haunted was an amazing album in every way. From the way it was one of the first albums recorded with Pro Tools, to the starnge crossover with Poe's brother's book, it was truly a cathartic voyage and a look into the future of mutlimedia. She was fully screwed over.

WOW!!! at about 3:30 my brain explodes.... whew...gee guys well done...Great song played and sung inspirationally ... such a treat for all of us. Thank you so much for posting. Anybody got an original pristine copy? I saw it on tv in the 90's and was just blown away.

+PeacenluvvProgaming She got a sh!t contract and refused to make any music until her contract ran out with them, which was years. Then, she couldn't produce something as soon as the contract expired, because it could be asserted in court that she 'created' that music while she was still under contract. So, she is waiting ADDITIONAL time (years) after contract expiration to ensure that this is not a problem. She basically stuck it to the man, and trusted that her fans liked her enough, they'd still be around when she came out from under her protest. And we will.

As I understand it Poe never refused to make music. Some jerk from Texas controlled all her material. From what I've read, she's recorded hundreds of songs but was not able to release any of them so they kept getting shelved. I saw her jamming on periscope so I am hoping she will release something soon. I'll never give up hope. I love Poe!
