Poet Brandon Leake Performs Compelling Piece on 'The Secret Life of Teachers'

Spoken word poet and former educator Brandon Leake performed a powerful poem called “The Secret Life of Teachers,” which gives perspective and reflections on school shootings. The “America’s Got Talent” winner also discussed how he’s giving back to his community in Stockton, California, his new book “Unraveling,” and shared details of the first poem he ever wrote.

Brandon, your delivery of words is outstanding. I saw you on every one of your performances on AGT and I just knew you would win. Please continue down this path I believe the Lord has guided you to so my grandchildren will never again spend an hour of classroom time hiding in the bathroom in lockdown while some lost soul is expressing his emotions with a gun. he should have written a song to a famous singer in Hollywood. poetry elements are very unique to be applied in a song. Like the Folklore album by Taylor Swift.
