I feel the “ my cancer is sun and my Leo is moon” is almost like embracing 2 personality, the calm and “normal” side of her or at least outsiders perception of her and then the other side of her which not necessarily crazy or unhinged ... just wild ...

It's definitely based on the book "Women who run with the wolves". She deals with the idea that women have been historically raised to be perfect daughters, stay at home mothers, wives and members of society. She basically says that she has a wild side and that she does not support that idea. Shes wild and free.

I think the message was more about deception.. like things seen so perfect but we have to take a step back and acknowledge all of the craziness.. like this past year. She talked about how before this pandemic we were so caught up in the things we buy like clothes, cars, going out to the “country club” as seen in this video. but nothing is as it seems. It may look Perfect but we have are flaws. Also her brother and sister were in the video and it’s like take a step back and remember the important things throughout the crazy times we live in.

obsessed with this song/video and loved the reaction as always! i think this video and song are about the contrasting but complementary sides of lana. the lyrics about astrology are important because they reflect the feminine, emotional side of lana in her cancer sun, and the wild, fierceness from her leo moon. this also explains the two sides of the video, the calm vibe as lana chills at the country club with the people she loves vs. burning her car and going wild with her girlfriends - i think the wolves are just a metaphor for lana's wild side.

LOVE YOUR VIDEO!!! ok I'm about to go off but I think the video has a lot of references to her childhood with her brother and sister, her father was successful but they didn't have a good relationship, same with her mother and lana got into partying. her parents forced her to go to an all girls boarding school, where I think she learned a lot about poetry and literature and it gave her a strong foundation for her life. She learned how to turn her pain into art and she changed her behavior with drugs & alcohol, but as she said she is still "strange and wild." She was and is painted as a wild party girl but she's just an outspoken & free spirit in my opinion! Her monologue for her music video RIDE explains a lot and talks about her past after leaving the school, because I think she disconnected from her family and was on the streets for some time. But she had a vision for her art, she wanted to be a poet herself, as she explains in Ride. ANYWAY so... She continues to write music and happens to meet the right people who want her to become a Big Star. She's still young but she's smart and knows what she wants to say so that's how we got Born to Die. She became ridiculously famous, and I think at some point down the line she became closer again with her family. Mainly with her sister Chuck who is her photographer and helps her with a lot of her videos and album covers. So now Lana has lots of money she wasn't necessarily after... She has fame and power and success and access to all kinds of things but I think she has learned that none of it matters, not all that glitters is gold. She has the big swimming pool, the ability to provide for her family, a stable life and career. The little girl in the video is her younger self, and she's connecting with her again because she feels like she's reliving the sweet parts of her childhood with the big house and her family around (which is now her friends and sister and brother). But her life is not perfect, and sometimes all she wants is to be normal. She has a side to her that is gritty and outspoken and opinionated and it rubs people the wrong way because of her platform but honestly she just wants to make art. I think there's some symbolism too in the country clubs representing a place of wealth, networking, luxury. Wearing their jewels in the swimming pool and contemplating god, talking about their star signs while chemtrails fly over their heads. There is the ominous feeling that these things are too good to be true, that things can't be what they seem. It's like the philosophical idea about utilitarianism, which is wild too but I swear Lana is thinking about all of this!!! She's very educated and literature and I think she's truly done her homework and is always playing a character in order to say something about life which she has learned through her experiences. I think she's showing herself as blonde again and in jewels driving her sports car and taking LSD to feel normal, like everything is fine, all smiles and sparkles. But she's still the young and wild spirit she always has been, that she has been scolded and misunderstood for. She seems blissfully unaware and is painted as that, but I think all she is ever trying to show is that she is a human being too with many sides to her and and someone who truly appreciates art!!! I love her so much lmao

I was thinking she was bored of the “normal” life and this was showcasing how they (her and her friends) are more than meets the eye and not just “country club girls.”she was talking about how the song was dedicated to her friends I think. Either way LOVE the video and your channel.
