E Te Hokowhetu is actually a waiata-a-ringa or action song that i know of .a very popular waiata in our culture .its cool that other cultures are trying to embrace Te Ao Maori .if only they had a better understanding of our waiata, kupu, whakamarama hei aha rānei yous would be amazing 😊 thats my whakaaro anyway Kia Ora

@MattheoRiddle_cheeehoo12 күн бұрын
i mean even if it’s for tourists that gives them all the more reason for it to be authentic and not sing the wrong words. even if it wasn’t on purpose, they could’ve searched it up and at least try to sing it properly. i mean imagine it was your own culture and some people just straight up disrespected it, whether it was on purpose or not, i don’t know abt u but i wouldn’t take that. that’s just my opinion, i wasn’t trying to offend anybody!

Well Māori have kept up with the times and are entirely capable of using any style of music. I imagine those singing are Hawaiian , not Māori.
