The April fools updates are done in the developers free time so it's technically been in the works for the entire year. Not to mention Microsoft always lets them loose for these updates so Mojang doesn't need to ask permission for anything they add.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the generation from the dimensions be used for the end. All the features in 1.21 are great though, and you can see the update in real time

@@lukeweb7319 I forget who, but one of the devs said that the problem with adding features is that for each feature, they have to go through loads of Microsoft corporate shenanigans, which I assume means they have to verify that everything is marketable, inoffensive, and brand-friendly. So I guess they just have loads of fun with the April Fools updates, and sneak in features that way lol, like the support for infinite dimensions Edit: apparently that was just a rumor! Sorry to the 60 people who liked this without fact checking me lol But even though it’s unconfirmed- I’m confident that a big part of the slow updates is Microsoft’s rigid corporate structure

@@jackatk that's not true. That's someone's speculation, a rumour started by some youtuber. Microsoft doesn't really interact with mojang. You can tell because things like not adding firefly and other things are 100% based on the personalities of the mojang team and not Microsoft.

The reason we need vertical slabs is because, you can use them to make longer stairways, also, we need slab combinations both horizontal and vertical.

@@OneBrokenEgg the grappling hook I really doubt it, that doesn't really fit for vanilla Minecraft (although they might pull it off), the fletching table would be really cool I think that It would be used to create the various potion arrows plus hopefully some new ones

but for sure I hope for new biomes, some of the ones in the snapshot are great and could be polished and added as part of an ultra rare set of biomes (like the fungal ones) with mob variants and so forth. They also included giant potatoes like in a popular mod, giant veggies would be cool to grow, the pseudo-trees plants are cool too.
