Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Scarlet and Violet using only grass types?
Nuzlocke rules:
- Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
- Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
- All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
- Always Set mode
- No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
- No overleveling the next gym leader
Custom Rules
- No setup moves
- No terastalizing

something that makes the mela fight way, WAY easier is that if you wait for it to rain in the overworld before starting her battle, her torkoal's drought actually fails, and now you go into the battle with all her fire moves at half power

My first playthroughs of gen 9 was grass only! Love the grass types added and returning here so much but it was definitely tough and I haven’t even nuzlocked this gen successfully with the whole dex so haven’t tried mono type locks yet, but love seeing them here for some ideas lol

Hydrapple is awesome! I was disappointed in applins stats for what was a new typing (I assumed the dragon type would have put it to atleast midtier-Hightower and grass is very versatile) this thing is what I originally expected from applins evolution but it’s a shame it’s meant to be this only is post game more or less

For me, Torterra is the MVP of this run. Able to tank all of hard hit attacks. Kudos to Amungoos and Hydrapple too..

Great video Had to lose a lot of grass types but thank god there were so many of them Would've been cool if had Indigo Disk in this as well for other Grass starters and Pokémon that became accessible Amoongus was MVP with surviving and Effect Sporing at clutch moments Also Jolteon is best Kanto Eeveelution but Espeon is best period

I'm questioning for Scarlet & Violet Nuzlockes, do you do a bunch of work involving with the EV's? And I see you put out 2 Nuzlockes in about a week's time so not sure how you do it when I know how long these things can take. "Next up is the Abomination we do not mention by name..." I got your back buddy, your auto correct must’ve changed espeon, to glaceon. Glaceon is dope tho. All eveelutions are, except flareon. Compared to literally every single other ego, flareon is basically just an eevee that failed to fully evolve

I am currently attempting a similar playthrough, albeit no nuzlocke and with only “flower/plant based“ Pokémon like Lilligant, Tsareena, Cacturne, Vileplume etc etc. And boy oh boy, grass Pokémon sure have it rough in this one! 😅

I haven't seen a Nuzlock in about 10 years. The rules have changed since my day. Level caps were not a thing and it was a HARD rule that you HAD to nickname pokemon.

34:40 I found that there's a bug in the game that when the overworld weather ends, if you're mid battle, it doesn't. I found that out when I relied on the sandstorm being gone in my nuzlocke. It was hard finding it out myself when the special move didn't quite kill

You can probably give your pokemon EV draining berries before battles to lower friendship if that still exists. I’m pretty sure herbs work too.

I don’t know if anyone else feels the same but I wish gamefreak would make Pokémon games with the option of being a bit harder. Either by giving us the permanent option of challenge mode OR built in nuzlocke settings. I went back and played shining pearl and it’s just to easy.
