Nintendo is very passive-aggressive against Pokemon. On one hand, Pokemon is funding the games Nintendo actually wants to make (Zelda/Mario titles), but Nintendo HATES Pokemon. They want it to die, but won't pull the plug because (well) billions of dollars.

Assuming they go to Kalos for an arc, it'd be interesting to see AZ get some focus. Since he's been alive for centuries, he likely met the legendary adventurer when he visited Kalos 100 years ago. Plus it'd be interesting to see the AZ story plot addressed in the anime.

I must admit, if this Pokemon Anime is going to visit all regions, I'd love to see ALL our favorite characters again...except, I'd also like them to be different. I don't want them to be the characters that knew / traveled with Ash, or that's just going to make people want him back even more. Perhaps it'd be a chance to develop those characters in different / better ways...?

@@LrnecBuma these characters could have little to no relevance in the anime, even they somehow or someway put it in the main anime series they will be massive weaker than it's games's counterpart since the anime doesn't allow multiple protagonists somehow (only one or two protagonists in the anime universe is allowed at time).

I'd like to see Milo, Bede and Opal (maybe even Avery) teach Liko about raising their respective type of Pokemon (since she's likely to catch the hatenna). Nessa helping Dot overcome her anxiety and learning some water type moves for Quaxly. And the family dynamic of Melony and Gordie to bring the crew more closely together.

Yeah, I also love to see Victor and Gloria to appear as characters they meet and battle with like in the old anime series with Ash, also like to see other characters and protagonists from the game series like Elios, Selene, Hector, Hilda, Rose and so on, even Calem and so on, even Gen 9 protagonists too and the Let's go characters too, also even Red (make him different from Ash if this is in the same universe tbh), so yeah

I honestly believed that "the old castle in the Galar region" was meant to be that one random ruined tower in the wild area where a lot of ghost types hang out. Now watching this video, I realize that squawabilly was almost certainly talking about Hammerlocke.

I think Journeys big focus was the world tournament because of ash’s retirement/champ tittle so Galar was lighty feature. If ash wasn’t leaving the show he would do a full 8 badge journey like he always had.

Yeah, honestly it's weird that now Galar feels like a very much forgotten region, even though it's not old. Looks like it is largely a result of now giving it enough screen time in the anime. But still, 3 years is certainly not enough time to properly 'flesh out' a region before replacing it with a new one.

I think Horizons' format being a whole adventure with lore is such a great concept instead of traveling town to town, doing sidequests, barely squeezing trough GYM battles, then going for champion, then repeat. Its my opinion, and i do respect that if you like the GYM to GYM then run for champ format! Everyone has different views.

I feel like Shatoshi (Ash) still a 10 years old and stay in the same universe as Shatoshi because Kabu (Idk his name in english ver) still a gym leader. In the main game (sword and shield) he still appeared with other gym leader. And if the gym leader like Saito (Bea) the fighting gym leader, the dark gym leader Piers and the ghost gym leader Onion (Allister) appeared, there is a chance that Shatoshi gonna return somehow and I wish that gonna happened as a world champion.

Just because kabu appeared as a gym leader doesn’t mean this isn’t a AU without ash/friends/team rocket the AU worlds we have visited before had people in the same position as they are in ash universe. I hope this is a AU without ash/friends/team rocket so they don’t have to worry about any of his history and can do anything with the story. Also if they bring ash back for a couple of ep they can age him up to be a adult saying ash universe time moves faster then HZ time or a whole lot of other stuff that changes things between ash universe and HZ. Like in pallet town of ash universe we have professor oak, Delia and Tracey with Gary/Ash dropping in every once in awhile, HZ pallet town could have daisy oak as the professor of the lab with leaf and eevee living in ash house with her dad.

Won’t mind if they are different people with different names but still that character in that world so it’s still new like ash is friede in HZ or liko/Roy while James/Jessie are zirc/onia that has been done a little bit in AU stuff.

*Ppl need to understand that JN was full of stuffs to begin with* • They need to make a respectful send off to give ash proper title • So they need to bring back past characters for his support while they also need to put some new characters for ash opponents. • while it's target audience clearly a previous generations, still their actual target audience was a younger kids. So they need a new character that can speak a freshness of pokemon world • And that was Goh. (+Koharu if you want to count her) • So imagine..while they built ash's arc as a veteran, they were also need to tell a story of a rookie trainer. Kinda extreme if you ask me It's cramped. Ideally JN needs 2 seasons tho

Bede, no wait Hop! I know we saw Hop at the master 8 tournament but! I want to see him actually do something than be in the sidelines like he was in gen 8 😒. As much as I didn’t like the guy in the game, at least he did something other than being sidelined. Regardless, I want to actually see him do stuff either a Pokémon trainer or Sonia’s assistant. Ok besides Hop, I also want to see either Bede taking Opal’s place as the new fairy type gym leader, Peony, Mustard, Melony, Avery and Klara.

I don't see Red ever turning up in pokeani because... Ash *is* Red, kinda, in the sense hes an au offshoot of the same base game character. (Ritchie is too, and that's really existentially weird, but it is what it is.) Anyway my opinion because it would be funny to me is that if they ever brought Ash back in Horizons it should be in the form of him & Gary Oak as adults doing the Battle Tree thing Red and Green did in SuMo.

I love to see all the missing characters and arcs from the games appear in the anime, like Gen 8 Gym Leaders, Victor and Gloria, Peony and his daughter, Mustard and his family, the two dlc rivals that i forgot their names of, the two cauliflower brothers (maybe the anime do them justice tbh, maybe tie the events of Journeys with them tbh), Calem, Elios and Selene, Hector and Hilda from B&W, Rosa and the other male protagonist from B2&W2, Xinnia of course (maybe have run ins with Ash in the past maybe), Gen 9 gym leaders and protags, whoever's missing from other generations and so on, so yeah

Too bad we can't have Red in the anime because Ash and Ritchie are his counterparts. Zinnia though is a perfect character to be the one discussing about Rayquaza in general. And speaking of locations that was not featured in the anime yet, I wanted to see the rest of the Unovan Bridges. We only got Skyarrow Bridge and Driftveil Drawbridge. I wanted to see the Tubeline Bridge, Marvelous Bridge, and most importantly the Village Bridge.

Well its POSSIBLE that Red MIGHT appear in the anime IF the developers from Horizon's confirmed that Ash doesnt exist in the Horizons timeline since the most recent episode that involves Liko and the Hatenna didnt mention the Hatenna is the same one from the Pokemon Journey's last series.

@@courage1363 A Hatenna that appeared in Journeys can't be the same one in Horizons as the world is vast. The location depicted in Horizons can't be the same one in Journeys. The only way to make sure that this takes place in the same universe is a character that appeared in the previous series mentioning events that happened in the previous series without explicitly stating Ash. And the most concrete place for this to take place is the Alola region due to how small and tight-knit the community is there.

What i think it is will be that liko and roy get the to learn how to battle and get to understand how to be a decent pokemon trainer and then after take on gym leaders in Paldea, the episode with Kabu gave me that idea

As they follow the black Rayquaza around they will come across all the pokemon that it seemingly awakens (Arboliva being the first), the second one most likely being in the Galar Mine. I think they will meet up with grandma and then move to the next region again (maybe after visiting Hulbury to eat at the restaurant, or train with Nessa).

Honestly, Sword and Shield had good characters, is the writting that was just bad and it hinder them. I liked how Hop ended up becoming a researcher like Sonia when he too couldn't beat his rival. Those little details are nice, shows they had deeper plans for them.

It’s not like we lacked galar stuff ash visited galar like ten times in JN lol that’s a lot imo Sure it could have been more but they did their best with what they had given the circumstances The writers had a lot of burden due to Covid and i sympathize

Yeah, but even just the simple change of having Ash be Professor Magnolia's research assistant along with Hop instead of Cerise and Goh back in Kanto would have helped with developing Galar. Can't watch ivysaur then, so something with carkol evolution instead. Ash could have had a bunch of his pokemon transfered there, and training with his new team. We would have seen pokemon from Galar all over the place so they don't always have to travel to observe, even if we didn't know who the trainers were, since they'd be kept there. That part was decided before Covid.

@@jenniferdaniels701 The whole angle they were going with is having Ash and Goh as research fellows at Cerise lab and sometimes they'd go explore all the other regions, furthering their goals in the process. It'd have felt unbalanced if there were too much focus on Galar. More importantly however, why does it matter in the first place? How is visiting different areas in Galar any better for the story than visiting different areas in any other region? It's the same thing. Take most of the episodes where they travel to another region and let's say they changed it so they were visiting Galar, everything would still work out the same. There's nothing being missed out on.

Personally, I don't think they would? Because then that sets a timeline between Horizons and Ash's adventure. I feel like they're purposely focusing on places and people Ash didn't meet yet to keep the two eras of Pokemon separate.

Personally I hope its a AU which can mean they can do anything they want and keep stuff the same from ash universe or change it like all Galar gym leaders are the same while ash/friends/team rocket doesn’t exist. If they bring back ash he could be a adult because his universe time moves faster then HZ time does and a number of other things.

@@butterskutz right so many possibilities without ash history plus we already know it’s hard bringing va back because we got lucky with how much iris we got because her va was busy on other things and we know may/max wont have a speaking role again because they are sick/retired. So having ash universe separate from horizons really helps with that issue and they can keep as much of it the same or as different as they like if we go to pewter gym we can have a AU Brock still being a gym leader wearing 1 of the masters outfit with a mega teiranator and he is a only child and doesn’t hit on girls all the time or a anime only character like lt. surge had for his gym in JN. Plus like I would totally love if ash comes back a a a adult and with lei as well being a trainer.

In my opinion, The Pokemon Anime Team could've just make Ash travel throughout the entire Galar Region (plus its DLCs along with Hop & Gloria), go back in time to the old days of Hisui/Old Sinnoh with Akari & Rei, and round out the paradoxes of the Paldea Region (with Nemona, Arven, & Penny) and at some point meet the Rising Volt Tacklers and their "rookie trainers", Liko, Roy, & Dot that Ash will teach. Ash's Galar Pokemon: Rillaboom, Corviknight, Drednaw, Centiskorch, Dracovish, & Urshifu (Single-Strike) Ash's Hisui Pokemon: Decidueye, Typhlosion, Samurott, Kleavor, Arcanine, Spiritomb, & Zoroark Ash's Paldea Pokemon: Quaquaval, Annihilape, Lokix, Armarouge, Baxcalibur, & Koraidon (or possibly Miraidon)

I'd love for them to return to Shamouti and speak of the Chosen One who saved the world (Referencing Ash). Maybe go back to Greenfield in Johto, or bring Fula City into the mix too. Oh and there's the entirety of the Sinnoh Battle Area that was never visited (To my knowledge), it would be cool to showcase Sinnoh's Battle Frontier as well, maybe do the same with the Battle Maison in Kiloude City. There's so much potential to explore the places missed in the OG anime series. It would definitely round out each region and give new places for these new characters to explore.

Something that would bring up complications. I would to see Unova and Cheren but that's kind of a problem. Horizons is kind of doing its own thing but I want to RIVAL Cheren and the BW anime already showed GYM LEADER Cheren when he was older. Horizons will more likely do it's own thing but I thought this when you were talking about characters

You and many other completely forget that Sword and Shield had Pokemon Twilight Wings as the respective anime for the region... Yes, it was short, but so was Pokemon Origins. Horizons was a send-off for ash and closing up the story about Ash and all the friends he's made along the way. Nothing more. Do better next time please.

Horizons did what Journeys couldn’t for example like introduce other characters from other regions, explore these regions properly, develop the main characters slow & steady and each episodes so far ties into the next ones & so on Horizons has been amazing so far can’t wait for more!!
