Almost every dark type has evil origins, even Umbreon has the dark type because of evil origins and because it represents the night. Gothitelle is also Psychic for completely other reasons, than just being accurate to Reunicles. Edit: Goth fits also more to Psychic because it's more pychopathic and not evil itself.

Psychic types are weak against dark types. So if it was a dark type physic type moves would be super effective against gothitelle. And that would confuse many players.
