This is my regular monthly video where I provide the pervious months grading report for us to discuss. In my mind there is no better indicator of the HOTTEST trends in Pokemon investing & grading then this data set. This should come as no surprise but I do a ton of research and deep dives into Pokémon products before I decide to buy and using this data to see the HOTTEST trends in Pokemon investing & grading is a big part of that! As always just because I think these are the HOTTEST trends in Pokemon investing & grading always be sure to do your own due diligence along the way!

Do you see PSA doing more with the exclusive promos now that they have broken the ice with the one piece Monkey promo card? Maybe some exclusive pokemon cards in the future?

I'd imagine they will look at the impact that had but my guess would be if they did it with Pokemon the take rate would be higher by multiples and even I would be all in on that so I hope so!!

I started seriously getting into the hobby within the last 2 years and when I started grading, I compared all the sites and chose CGC. I'm really happy to see more people leaning into CGC with these new slabs, the slabs just look cleaner to me and the black/gold pristine slabs are an extra fun surprise to get back. Love to see them trending up.

I mentioned this last time, but the drop-off in grading is going to continue. There is exhaustion in market for graded cards, particularly for Pokemon. It doesn't mean that Pokemon is going to nosedive, but there is a noticeable slowdown in purchasing (for various reasons) and that indirectly affects PSA. I also think for PSA particularly, they have not been doing a great job with grading with consistency and accuracy for the past 10 to 12 months. They were rushing to grade the large volumes of cards, and likely hiring people that are not well-trained or experienced. We'll see volume shrinking throughout the year is my prediction. I wouldn't be surprised if PSA had layoffs starting Q1 in 2025. They probably over-hired during the boom period.

Yeah it's been really interesting to watch. 2 of the last 4 months they've set all time grading records so the volume is there (at least for now) but to your point the TCG space is super soft! I'm really surprised they haven't instituted some type of AI assisted grading at this point to cut down on the inconsistencies. It will be interesting to watch especially with some awesome S&V sets on the horizon!! Great input as always my friend!!

Yeah pretty sure the priv quality of the cards has something to do with it, i see alot on facebook groups look for minty cards but most of the cards for sale just have damage issues from the get go when they get opened from the pack, its wild to see how many 151 cards that has whitening / corner issues.

I agree 100%, it wasn't concentrated to just one set either. A ton of the early S&V sets had print issues so maybe we will see a big bounce in the next few months!!

Everyone is probably tired of PSA screwing up their cards. They got me on a card 2 submissions in a row and that's scary when people send some very sentimental cards in for grading..

I've had that happen before where they just, for whatever reason, seem to get stuck.. I've had a later sub come back before an earlier sub in that past which was super wild!!

I think ball sports got a big jump from Victor Wembanyama and Pokémon lost a bit of steam in Japanese maybe? Great data content. Thank you.

Pokémon Japan went crazy reprinting a ton of sets including the Lugia and giratina alt sets so it’s been slapping the Japanese market pretty hard! I’ll stand firm by the exclusive Japanese promos but I’ll chill out on the boxes for a min.

Yeah I'd agree with that but the gap is sooo big it's got to be more then just Victor. I 100% agree with the slow down in Japanese being a huge factor. Outside of Victor I haven't felt a lot of over the top hype around any particular player so it's very very weird to me LOL. Awesome call out and awesome input as always my friend!!

I still think CGC is the way to go. The slabs look way better and that Pristine 10 is going to become a thing.

@@dcsoda1 I didn’t know that! If it can continue do to so then it’s definitely worth betting on. In my xp, it’s always smart to follow the money and as the graphs show psa has way more volume as a whole. If cgc 8’s and 9’s can show the same strength over psa you’ll be sitting pretty.
