Few things: Gyms in Modern Mode have different gym typings from the original. Blaine's gym uses Psychic types, Brock uses Steel types, Misty uses Ice types and so forth. The head of a Pokémon has the Pokémon primary typing and then the body's secondary or given type. Let's say you have Blaziken/Marowak. It's typing would be Fire/Ground, but reversing it with a DNA Reverser makes it Ground/Fighting. That Heracross/Hitmonchan around 41:18 is indeed a reference fusion. There are tons of references in the game that can be stuff like Chainsaw Man, Guilty Gear, Pokémon anime references, etc. Porygon seems to have a ton of them

I’m a nerd so I feel the need to say this… Use King’s Shield more often. Aegicruel can be your scout to see what move they want to use and, if the move makes contact, it will lower their attack stat by one stage. I just noticed Gallchomp destroyed your boy and if you had used King’s Shield then you could at least survive the turn to figure out what to do next. Love these vids guys!

so since its been a while lemme give yall a reminder: yall are playing on modern mode, which changes up the gym types. generally theyre pretty close to the normal types (like how misty swapped from the expected water to the new ice types, erika went from grass to bug, etc.), this is why blaine used psychic types instead of fire and he's the weirdest one to predict. I won't spoil types, but all I'll say is that the rest should be pretty predictable from what i remember except maybe giovanni. But yeah, don't expect the same types your used to or youll get your shit rocked

If you can get another Aegislash, Pairing it with Shuckle can be a good balance of Phys attack and defense, a bit slow and kinda silly looking, but fun to use imo, could also replace shuckle for snorlax if you want better looks
