My theory is the tower will attract Zygarde to attack as we upgrade. We will need to upgrade each segment of the map and with it a new mount / Mega pokemon will appear to help defend. Also potential diancie involvement in the plot with the pink logo. OR if time travel, dare i say it shiny celebi. Also maybe the layout of the town has significance with the colours and linking to elements. it coudl also be some kind of wheel of time that powers the centre beacon

It would be so cool if we have something similar with A-Z in Legends Z-A. Telling the full story of A-Z, finally getting Floette A-Z and it connecting with many lore points of the Unova and Galar region. Although if they would want to create some sort of unified lore with all the generations, I think they'll most likely keep it a bit vague regarding what all of this implies for the other generations to keep the opportunity to unveil different parts of the lore through future Legends games. Many people seemed very surprised this Pokemon Legends game announced was about Kalos and not Unova but Kalos is the region that deserved it the most when you think about it. There is too much lore points that have been scrapped from the X and Y games and a lot of things are clearly lacking, especially about Zygarde. And it seems clear this game will focus on A-Z and Zygarde because of the logo and this pokemon is surprisingly rarely talked about when it comes to discussing the lore about the Kalos region cause basically nothing connects it to the lore of the region while it's the third main legendary (usually the decisive one for the story). It's hard to have a precise and cohesive story, majorly a timeline, when it comes to Kalos' lore. Unova on the other hand, its story is the most explored and known. It would obviously be cool to get more lore points on the Unova region but we basically already know what to expect and what we want: getting more info on the ancient kingdom, the twin princes and the original dragon, whereas we basically don't know anything about what to expect from a Legends game based on Kalos, what mysteries could be unveiled. Legends Black and White will necessarely come eventually (we have the confirmation now with Legends becoming a series and not being a standalone game anymore). And we know when it will come, it will very likely be good (at least lore and story wise).

The second the reveal was over I instantly thought to myself "Birdkeepertoby would've loved this. I'm sure even if he's retired from being active on his channel he's definitely freaking out and enjoying this and theory crafting and analyzing and such." And then I saw this the next night after Pokémon day and watched it in it's entirety along with bever seeing the last video here until now, and just finished watching this all at midnight. Thank you Toby, for everything. And oh yeah, this is definitely all leading up to something big in an eventual Legends Unova game. But for now I'm definitely going to enjoy the return to the generation of Pokémon that led to me discovering all the Pokétubers I've ever known. And you were one of the very first I found thanks to what Pokémon X and Y led me to discovering other people with world views different from ny own in truths and ideals. I still remember you colaberating with Lockstin and anxiously waiting awake at night waiting for his call with his old channel intro as the Ringtone. Sure enough, someday perhaps sooner than we realize, the events of every Region, every generation, every character Pokémon and human alike, particularly the third legendary Pokémon from each generation 5 and onwards up until now with Gen 9 . . . I t a l l c o m e s t o g e t h e r. I'll see you in Kalos. And then eventually Aleous. Till then, take care and best wishes.

TCPi is taking over a year off from new games to presumably focus on quality. I hope the story is as good as S/V was!

Many are confused because of the holographic presentation but gonna say it here... That's why it's called Pokemon Legends Z-A because its usually takes place before the original game comes up. The holographic presentation is just a blueprint for redeveloping the urbanize Lumiose City. The key words here we know it's before XY is the "A Vision of beautiful coexistence between people and Pokemon..." means that there are still conflict with the relationship if pokemon and humans. Modern eras are now getting along with pokemon but here it's to coexist. Also not a coincidence that they choose Kalos after Paldea because Paldea is a representation of Spain so it's near France which Kalos is based on. Not gonna be surprised if they mentioned Paldea and Galar (representation of UK) because they were in war before.

I got my hopes up for just a second, but a compilation is also nice.

I have a theory about Carbink’s connection to the Ultimate Weapon. Infinity energy, which is present in the Ultimate Weapon, can be assumed to be synonymous with the ‘infinite energy’ as stated in Eternatus’ Pokédex entry, so we will assume that the Ultimate Weapon is the cause of the Eternamax of Eternatus. Regidrago’s “crystallized dragon energy” and Regieleki’s “enough energy to power Galar” (literally Rose’s whole objective throughout the Galar storyline) is from Eternatus, which is why they were feared as a potential repeat of the Darkest Day and sealed away separately in the *Split-Decision* Ruins, and why they only appear in Galar. This is just background theories before I start theorizing about Carbink. Along with Carbink being found next to Geosinge Town, aka the burial site of the Ultimate Weapon, it can also be found in many other places connected with the box legendaries, but the connection between Necrozma, Eternatus, and Terapagos are really convoluted and Lockstin does it better than I do, so check his stuff out. Carbink is found right next to the Altar of the Sunne in Vast Poni Canyon and in Ten Carat Hill where Necrozma falls in Sun and Moon. (This is more of a stretch, but I think that a weapon with enough power to make a ‘Timeline Shift’ can open Ultra Wormholes.) It’s also found in Path to the Peak, and if we assume the manga holds the correct lore about Calyrex, is next to where the Darkest Day was fought. It’s found in Roaring-Sea Caves, which is next to the three-point pass, where Split-Decision ruins is located and are connected to Eternatus as previously stated. It’s also found in Lakeside Cave, which is connected to Ballimere Lake, which surrounds the Dyna Tree. It is also found on and at the top of Oni’s Mountain, which is known to be filled with Terastal energy from the Crystal Pool, though it’s not confirmed why Terastal energy is present in Kitakami. All of this evidence supports the idea that it likes rocky and cavernous habitats connected to the box art legendaries of Kalos onwards. What does all of this mean? There’s plenty of strong evidence that the Great Crater of Paldea, Area Zero, was created by the impact of the Ultimate Weapon (Floette being omnipresent is one reason, as well as the fact that Mega Pokémon are stated to be an ancient form of the original Pokémon, and Mega Salamence and Roaring Moon are extremely obviously connected design-wise, not to mention the Mega form’s ‘ancient’ form’s overlap with Scarlet Paradox Pokémon). If this is true, then that means the Ultimate Weapon and crystals are very heavily related, be it Mega Crystals or Terastal Crystals. Carbink, from my research, is most definitely a product of the Ultimate Weapon.

Mega Evolution coming back brought my guy back from the dead

Diance has a whole movie. The speculation is that who ever was the previous owner of diance, diance had used diamond storm and one of diamonds just never vanished. When diance touched it, it transformed. Which Is why you always get a stone from a trainer when you get diance. It goes hand in hand. In the films adaptation, this happens, but the story goes that every few hundred/thousand years, a new diance is born to turn into the pink princess and rejuvenate the core. So essentially, every diance is born through chance, and through chance, it creates its own mega stone..... I thought the film was pretty solid with explaining diance

I have some awesome memories with pkmn XY, so seeing ZA has me excited. There are so many unanswered questions that it allows for some huge potential. Its been a while since ive been this thrilled. Just think what they can do with the powerplant thing for example.

I have a theory that the story takes place many years after the story of XY and that perhaps it even merges with the events of the Pokémon XYZ anime. Remember those roots that grew in Kalos I think that at a certain point zygarde lost the battle in trying to defend the region from this, which caused Kalos to be destroyed again and only ruins and fortress cities like Lumiose were left.

@birdkeepertoby I know you have been contemplating ending your coverage on pokemon and moving forward with other comments and I want to be supportive of your decision but you are hands down one of my favorite poketubers and your Kalos content was exactly what helped me get back into pokemon it won't feel right without you covering this game in particular I def think you should do what's best for you but it's almost like pokemon itself is begging you to stay

I'm looking forward to this game. It has alot of potential and tge over map is huge. I saw some comments about ppl complaining about it taking place solely in the city and honestly that's not a big deal since alot of major France city have huge undercorft, sewer systems, and a under city. So even if the game takes place solely in the city it can potentially have many lower layers building up the foundation to the city with countless habitats for pokemon. With the theme urban redevelopment it sounds like we are going to be trust a new role different from the main stream role of collecting and training pokemon across the land filling up pokedex and challenging a pokemon league. It seems to me we are just going to be an every day person living in the city and our job is helping with the reconstruction of the city and its under layers and in the process capture, train, pokemon to aid in protecting job sites and or drive away an evil team or organization bent on stopping the redevelopment of the city that favors co-existence with ppl and pokemon. I really love the legends game because its so rich in characters, story, lore, music, and its a break from being in the traditional role of pokemon trainer and being able to see how everyday life is for ppl who are not pokemon trainers traveling across the region to take on a pokemon league. Its a nice break from being a pokemon trainer to do something else in the world of pokemon besides going from region to region challenging pokemon leagues.

Just gonna say, you probably dont remember me making the whole AZ being time travel sequel games to XY... before we got PLA, or paradoxes or xyZ anime. I also said Azoth was the past version, and ended up, a gen later, saying Meltan and Magearna are from there... I actually have low expectations for ZA being only in 1 town... like it sounds like we are just getting a detective Pikachu traveling with (faller) Looker... like literally anything like the weapon, sundial, or power plant... arent in lumiose... Also, ive heard alot of people saying that there will be a evil Team Quasar... made from the symbol shown in the reveal. id call it 'Solar Flare' id have Cyrus return with Giratina(pla) taking over Team Flare...this leads to Team Solar Flare, maybe becoming the origin of the Ultra Recon Squad, and Lumiose becoming Ultramegalopolis.
