Note on the Army Painter Base!! I totally forgot to mention this but it's really important. This product DOES NOT work for hands and heads. When I was spraying the head it pulled and pooled so I took it off. In the case of the hands, the paint literally never dried. When I was taking the photos, at least a 3 weeks after I painted them, the paint was pushing around and taking finger prints =_= I don't know if this was the reason that the paint chipped so much on the body.... idk I'm not sure I'll be using it again

I love how she turned out! Truly makes justice to the inspiration: Magikarp, the best pokemon to ever grace us. Jokes aside my favorite part was the tail, it screams Magikarp and I love it.

She's the perfect human (and mermaid) Magikarp!! I love that her expression is so naive and beautiful at the same time, which is ideal for the character. Her jacket and shorts are amazing!! I think that I prefer her human form. But I love the mermaid too ❤.

I like to think that this is the trainer that wrote the Magikarp Song lol I definitely like the human version better, there's just so much detail put into the outfit and I love it! She reminds me of the episode where Misty played a mermaid in her sister's show!

She turned out so gorgeous! So much thought went into her two designs and everything really fit so well together! ❤ The idea with the iridescent fabric and the soldering iron is golden! And the shorts are the cutest! About the resin turning cloudy fresh out of the mold. I think it's because of the surface of the item you made the mold with. If it's matt them the mold will be matt inside and so the casted item will also be matt. But it's is shiny or polished then the mold in the inside will also be shiny and so the item casted should be much more shiny as well. At least that's with some of my gem stone molds. I hope that helps 😊

@@Dolleemixtures try using a monster high shoe you don't have to alter much. also hard plastic is better than the rubbery ones for that gloss finish. If you have UV curing resin you can pour over or brush over a thin coat to fill in the rough texture from poor sanding and bring back that gloss finish. Although, if you're going to be painting your casted shoes, the texture from the rubbery originals help the paint stick. ;P So i found a happy reason to make molds of all kinds.

The black kitty is Satellite, he was very helpful. The tiny tabby with a curly tail is Avocato. She was very helpful. I don't think Spock wanted to be on camera this time...

Hey there! So the thing with the resin is that the blank that you used to make the mold was matte, so the resin cured to be matte as well! If you want something to come out as glossy, you need to make sure what your mold is made from is also glossy! I hope that makes sense!

@@Dolleemixtures Hmmmmm I guess it would depend on how fine the gloss spray was and if it left any subtle texture! Something I'd suggest is maybe get a small bottle of UV resin and coat it with a good, thin and even layer of that on the blank before casting!

The doll is gorgeous! The little Gyrados on her t shirt is too cute! Also, hi to which ever kitty helper popped in. What sort of texture was the mold you used for the shoes? I forgot to say on Instagram but if the silicone mold is shiny, the resin will come out shiny, if the mold has a matte texture, the resin will come out matte and cloudy ❤

Ah thanks my love Uhhh it was the one I made... Like I sanded the shoes but I potentially should have buffed them? I'll try that before making the new mold I think...

@@Dolleemixtures I've just watched it back, the mold looked like it had more if a matte finish which would explain why the resin went cloudy. I think the liquid mold maker would work best if you want it to not have the cloudy effect as I believe that sets shiny 😊

I think I'm still going to give the shoes some attention. The soles were shiny... The sides weren't... I didn't sand the soles... HM... Idk I have a good ammount of mold maker and only this mold planned...

Oh she's super cute! I think I like human mode a little bit more, solely because every part of human mode is beautifully detailed, while mermaid mode's tail has a very large block of unadorned solid orange. Love that hair and faceup!

First! I love her, and I think you can probably almost get away with leaving her bikini top on under her t-shirt too? second! the resin! silicone will only make a shiny mold if the original was shiny, so when you filled in the holes you pretty much made sure it wouldn't be shiny. Perhaps doing a thin gloss coat on the original shoes then making a mold of those would fix that problem? otherwise you will always need to top coat it with something

Ooh, I didn't think about that actually. I did think of her wearing the T with the tail and the 'kini with the shorts. It spins around quite a bit cause MH boobers are so tiny, they don't like hold on... I'm now thinking of making a combined top though!! That's great advice, I don't know why I didn't think about that. I guess I should get some v fine grit sand paper cause even after the gloss they're not as good as I want them to be... but thank you!! That's so helpful

Not to sound negative, but why do you make realistic sclerae, but then the pupils are totally unrealistic? The pupil of the eye is an empty hole… j/s.

Style choice. My sclera aren't realistic either. Compared to other artists I'm on the realism side but not true realism. Have a look in a mirror. There are veins and its off white. I'm just shading the sclera. I also shade the iris and the pupil. All style choices. This is defo not where my style is ATM and I'm still developing my personal style
