In this TEDx, I tell the story of how Silicon Valley and Israel became Tech Powerhouses and I argue how Poland is following in their footsteps.
My argument goes as follows: A tech power house requires 5 distinct ingredients:
1. A Culture of Entrepreneurship
2. A High Density of Highly Skilled Workers
3. A lot of Public Capital to catalyse a reaction
4. Large investments into high tech areas
5. Immigration

I am a Japanese citizen who grew up in Ukraine and my fiance is Ukrainian. We want to move to Poland rather than live in Japan and commit our future and the future of our children to the Polish dream. This video expressed the belief I had about Poland's great potential, thank you Dominik for such amazing content!

Świetna prezentacja, 'world class'. 👊

Panie Dominiku, ''A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'' Sam od kilku lat kształcę się i specjalizuję za granicą ale w innej branży, jednak chce wrócic do Polski. Pomimo aktualnych problemów, wierzę, że te dobre czasy jeszcze przed nami. Proszę tworzyć wiecej takich filmów popartyh faktami i dowodami. Trzymam kciuki!

Prawidłowe podejście. Jednak bądź ostrożny i wybierz odpowiedni moment na powrót do Polski. Kojarzysz może stronę defence24? Polecam Ci artykuł „Głód, migracja i dezinformacja: przed nami ciężkie czasy”. Pozdrawiam i życzę sukcesów

Thanks for this flattering video! Israel and Poland always share similar stories, especially in diaspora. Jewish and Polish are spread around the world indeed, each with different acquired skillsets, knowing that we both have a homeland each where we could return to if we wanted. But at this time I as a more democratic, progressive and liberal-minded person don't have any intention to return, because our current government is too conservative and anti-LGBTQ. That's just for me though. Other Poles may view it differently.

Very interesting speech. While I defienietly knew that Poland have great capabilities, never thought that high-tech might be one of those, in fact I was sure that our economy will most likely be based on logistics mostly, like it is in Germany. I love this. I was 12 when my parents (chemical engineers/economics) left Warsaw and immigrated to Canada. I’m turning 40 this year and I’ve had a software service company in Canada for the past 12 years but over the past few years I’ve been thinking about starting a tech company in Poland. Can anyone recommends any Polish startup networks? Looking to network at this time.

If not current government we would be a vassal state of Germany. Previous government in last weeks of their governance sold even such strategically important company as PKP Energetyka and was selling everything all over, while now we are becoming military superpower of Europe. But I bet You're liberal, so I'm not surprised that You don't like this government, cos they don't allow killing babies for example.

From the American movie swingers: Poland "you're so MONEY and you don't even know it!" (meaning you have a gold mine of talent. Time to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit and rise up. Silicon on the Vistula hehe) I first noticed, like Dom, how well Poland does on K-12 PISA scores compared to Germany, France, other OECD nations. Polish children receive a better education than most in the entire world. The amount of highly educated people, high proportion of STEM graduates and female engineers should not be underestimated. Now I realize Poland's potential. Warsaw has risen from the ashes of WW2 and the stifling decades under the Soviets to, in 2023, start to become one of Europe's modern capitals. For decades people fled to neighboring Germany for jobs. How entertaining would it be if, say within a decade that STEM graduates from Germany start heading to Poland and Warsaw for better opportunities instead. I'm bullish on Poland and Warsaw. We have many Poles that have made Canada a better nation for many decades. Time for repatriation and other immigrants to help develop Warsaw into a business and tech capital that is not only the envy of Central Europe but all of EU! Best wishes to all of Poland and Warsaw from Canada 🥂
