Thanks so much for this clean review Nick! this looks like the option for me, for when I finally get some DJI goggles. I still run analog....but I LOVE my caddx analog starlight cams. (Specifically the caddx ratel/ratel2/ratel2 freestyle edition) The original V1 ratel needs the ND filter when flying in full daylight however. When I tried the ratel2 freestyle, I was BLOWN away by the speed of light transition between dark tunnels/bright open areas, honestly if you want something like this for analog, try out caddex's ratel2/ratel2 freestyle. They DEFINITELY know what they're doing with the starlight sensors. Very incredible contrast ratios, and fast lux/switching. Used to be dedicated to runcam microswift v2/v3 until caddx started using these sensors more. 1200TVL is incredible on analog.

Caddx has come a long way. We used to see dust or debris on the inside of the lens or sensor, now the cameras perform really well and no dust.

Need more low-latency cameras. Caddx are threatening to block anything without the low-latency chip to prevent runcam mipi from working, so what does that mean for this new nebula nano?

good review. still needs more low light sensitivity, or a full black and white mode would be good. im a HD fan here but my analogue Runcam Night Eagle was amazing. I could chase fruit bats through trees with it in moonlight. great to see caddx releasing new versions for the visita - best vtx ive ever used 🥰

Hi Nick YEP I'm not liking this. My biggest reason why not to purchase the DJI system is that it stunk at night footage. During the Summer I fly a lot at night, I have 4 quads that have the Caddx Ratel starlight and I fly them at 1 am. but don't record it because it would look grainy. I just purchased a Foxeer Cat 2, and it looks great even in moon light I didn't get a grainy picture. But DJI didn't come close, but Now I'm impressed. Thanks again for the video and information. But I still could never justify spending the money to get DJI.

Irrelevant and most already knew that. The Nebula Pro has the DJI chipset and is full-featured. All the other Caddx cameras (Nebula Nano, Nebula Micro, Eachine Micro, Polar Starlight) do not, so are missing a bunch of the features and settings.

Home owner association of your neighborhood or city ask lamp in the yard? Here it’s mostly neighborhood that have those request. One street next where I live ask for lamp, no lawn mowing on weekend, etc. But not us. Anyway thanks for sharing. It’s 9g!! But impressive. The runcam mini seems really good in low light btw.

Nice review! Do you have a snapshot of how an analog "starlight" cam i.e. ratel looks at night outside your house? Or maybe you have an old review of it. I'd just like to see how close digital cams are to analog at night, but from the looks seems to be pretty close. I'd also really like to have a Shark Byte "starlight" cam for the winter. EDIT: Found your ratel review, seems the ratel sensor is still a bit brighter in the dark. But not that much.

Very nice picture on this one. Kinda makes me actually want to move from analog. But the price of the goggles is still too high for my blood. So should have gotten the v1 when I had the chance when they first came out.

@@MT-xy7fw true but I’ve gotten all my goggles much cheaper than retail. Think I paid 200 for my HDOs. The cheapest I can get the dji gogs is more than double that. And I’m still hurtin from the bs cv lockdowns last year. But things finally picking back up and bills getting paid.

One question thou: did you have the nebula pro on HQ mode as well? This makes nighttime performance somewhat better because shutter can go up to 1/60s. Would be good to know

I can't say if it would. I don't believe we have seen features such as this added to a camera via firmware.

There have been several videos on dji/vista latency and the related cameras. I personally don't think there is that big of a difference from high quality to low latency, there is a much more significance going from analog fpv to dji/vista fpv.

I don't think this hardware will have firmware to implement those changes. I suspect over time we will see another camera with the features such at 4:3 and low latency mode.

@@NickBurnsFPV I just wanted to say I love the TKS rocket race, after about 40 hours on a simulator learning to fly I gave the TKS a try and wow that thing is fast for a beginner like me but a lot of fun. I'm getting the hang of it. The only thing I have broken were 2 motor shafts, I just had the props pressed on without screws to save weight but have installed screws now, plus ordered a bunch of motors to keep me going. Thanks.

I was waiting for a camera like this to appear on the market. Not that I was planning to buy into DJI due to the price and the weight. But I noticed that all the HD camera's on the market used to have really poor dynamic range. I might buy into sharkbyte If a camera with similar image quality ever comes out. My take from watching a lot of DVR footage: the resolution is higher, but I can see way better where I'm going using a ratel (heck, even an ant)

Sorry, I don't sell anything from the channel. There are pitfalls I don't want to be involved in. In the case of new product I need to hold onto them for awhile so I can answer comments that come in. Thank you for the appreciation, I hope you understand why I don't sell items from the channel. Especially those items that fly. How good can a review be if the quad has never been crashed. I have flown all the quad enough to crash and the post review reliability is at the very least in question.

true but with HD you don't get the breakup and noise flicker. its ability to provide a solid picture through trees and obstructions even at considerable range is what makes it impressive. but analogue night cameras are still better than this i recon 👍

while I haven't seen your video its likely either the mounting or the pid tune, with HD those two items need to be well handled.

Just compare FOV of Polar 16:9 and Nebula Pro/DJI 4:3 and you will not wish to buy Polar.
