We have been riding this sled for 2 seasons and don't know why it won't reach proper RPM. It has the exact same clutching and miles as the Khaos 850 in the video. Comment below if you have suggestions. Thanks!

I am trying to figure out that background whining sound... the really high pitched sound Track tension? Put it on a lift, remove the belt..spin the secondary by hand to check jackshaft and track Not convinced it's motor

I think that is the QuickDrive belt. We will check the track tension. Thanks for pointing out that sound 👍

spark plugs, take them out and try to rotate the ceramic part of the plug from the bolt part of the plug, if it has play in it, then the plug is your culprit...

its most likely still warranty, they have a bunch of recalls, could be the fuel pump thats giving up, or the reeds, or the injectors, or bushings in the clutches, or bearings somewhere, it can be a bunch of things, just by keeping the clutches spot on you take out that in the possible causes. after clutches i"d go see in the tank and then check everything else

Likely exhaust valves. Will find out soon 👍

@Cookie18877 Жыл бұрын
You probably have a bad fuel pump is when you routinely lose power whether you're climbing a hill or going at high speed. In many cases, lost power is actually a sign of another problem such as an engine issue or a pinched fuel line.

The MY21up Polaris Patriot 650, 850, Boost and 9R have a fuel temperature and pressure sensor. If there was a fuel pressure problem, a Diagnostic Trouble Code would have been recorded and displayed. A fault with the muffler EGT sensor (which is in an aftermarket muffler), or the pipe EGT sensor, could be causing this derating of power or fade. A fault with the VES system could be the cause as well.

Have only had the sled out for 2 rides this season. Hoping to test out a new belt and the stock silencer. We might end up dropping a couple grams on the weights in the primary.

@@JasonCaville, Hey bud....I'm in the middle of a low RPM issue my self. 2018 PRO RMK 800/155. Out riding the other day and the old girl fell flat at 6200 RPM (earlier in the day, she would snap right to 8150 with no hesitation). Scary part was that I was alone and almost 30 miles from the trailhead where my truck was. Belt was good on adjustment and I swapped plugs which picked up my RPMs by almost 200 bringing me up to a runnable 6400. Still started ok , reverse was no problem either. Idle was smooth and normal, and no funny sounds. Dropped at shop and waiting on word. Hope it is something simple (reeds, fuel sock, EV, or stuck weight on primary). Spring looked ok on primary, and new bushings back in November. Fingers crossed on this one. I'll keep you in the loop on this.

@@JasonCaville, Hey Bud...well, I got the call....They couldn't get the exhaust vlvs to cooperate with the computer, so they pulled them out to dig deeper. Turns out a nut was busted off, and when they looked inside, a chunk of piston was missing. Next step, open her up. Well, pin missing from ring groove, which in turn let the ring spin till the gap hit the EV and lost a chunk of that also. I guess the Good Lord liked me enough that day to let me make it over 2 mtn passes on my way back to the truck, and actually make it to the truck under it's own power. Go figure, busted ring, busted piston, and busted EV, and she ran me to where I needed to be in a timely fashion. Well, you know this ain't gonna be cheap. I chose to add in a new crank just because of the mileage and a good reason to replace all the bearings that touched the crank. 6 years and 5,700miles was a good run.

Did he change the bars on it? If you change your bar height you need to readjust the throttle cable or else you might be at 80% throttle. Other than that put 91 non ethanol (not even 10%)and check the belt. I heard some aftermarkets can affect the rpms but obviously wrong belt tension can affect too. Spark plugs?!?Theses things sound obvious but it happens.

check for broken plugs…muskoka free rider vids have shown all kinds of different problems this year. he was changing a couple plugs per ride that cracked the ceramic. reeds were a problem on one day and the power was down similar to your friends. i doubt a belt would be causing this issue at 500 miles might pick up a couple hundred rpm but not 900-1000. IMO back to dealer??
