Polaris Ranger 900 | Front Diff Fluid Change

Changing the front differential fluid on my 2013 Polaris Ranger 900. Pretty easy job this is how you do it. I have the Polaris extreme bumper. The stock bumper is easier to work around.

Demand Drive Fluid & Mobil 424 are the same thing , that's all I've ever used in front Hilliards . Thanks !! 😊

Use a strong magnet underneath your drain pan and all the fragments will collect in one place for inspection

I have to do the transmission too which is also the rear diff. I hope the oil looks as good as the front.

They told me at my dealership that we need to do this every 100 hours. Seems too much to me but I do it anyways

Seems like I heard that it should be changed with the motor oil. I didn't get a manual with my Ranger so not sure. It probably should be changed often because there isn't much fluid in there.

and every 50 hours on your engine oil and filter. My manual says it takes 2-1/2 quarts of motor oil, 44oz. In the transmission gearcase, 7.5oz. front drivecase.

The front diff holds 1/4 of a quart. See Amsoil.com for the exact amount(.22) and use the best synthetic you can buy which is Amsoil in my book. We had to change a front diff a while back, it is waaaay cheaper to change the oil OFTEN.

My '13 900 XP still has less than 100 hours, and it's front diff oil been changed 3 times. Oil is cheap, it takes 5 minutes to change this, and I like having the condensation and metal particles out of there. This is a high failure item.

@@clifft7832 That's low hours for a 13! Not sure about our hours but our 2019 Ranger has 2200 miles. We drive it everywhere! 👍👊
