Hey man do you have any recommendations for aftermarket or good used parts for 2002 or 2003 Kawasaki Prairie 650? My buddy gave me one he got a crazy deal on 4 pretty beat up atvs and he said it should run with a couple items I got a carb kit, oil change/ tune up kit, battery, and then I’ll need a screen for speedo. Outside of the speedo I’ve got the other items already ordered and also differential fluid to service front and rear... I’m curious about suspension components, and maybe some aftermarket skid plates, plastics and maybe an upgraded exhaust... I’m looking to turn this into a project build because I’ve never owned one and I want to get 100% from it but since it’s an older model and I’m new to atvs I’m not sure what kind of sites or places to look for some of these parts. Any suggestions would be super helpful. Thanks for all the videos man I learn a lot from each one. I may document the build if it works out to be a decent motor and all works with the parts mentioned above. The two guys I’m doing this with are very experienced in all things off road and 2-4 wheels so I have faith in them to help me get her running.

How do you go about changing the rod bearing on the crankshaft on one of these?

Hey man if you come across any carburetor parts for prairie 650 Let me know I’ll check your eBay store in the middle of a rebuild and the carb rebuild was going well until I tried lining up the butterfly plate on the throttle side carb I just can’t line the damn second screw up... also any idea on how tight the nut should be on the throttle mechanism when I tighten it all the way the throttle will not move even after thorough cleaning but when I loosened it just a bit things worked fine just worried it’s not supposed to be loose this is the nut that is on the outside of the carb which holds the butterfly plate in the carburetor not sure the correct term and first time working on one... that dang plate just will not line up no matter what I do I tried for about 1.5-2 hours.. I was thinking maybe I could replace the butterfly plates but don’t see them for sale just the whole carb assembly

How do you drain and fill the engine oil?

Do these motors have timing, is there a certain place the piston has to sit before putting it back together? I dont wanna blow my quad

I'M curious IF YOU STILL have parts for these. I literally picked one up off the side of the road in pieces for 000. oo it had no motor or trans. The rear end was not attached. Parts I'm still missing ...starter,shifter assembly motor mounts,swing arm bushings and bolts.sprocket and dics. That go on the trans and the chain .I believe I have gotten all the other parts as far as I know. Let it be known I have never owned or worked one of these I've never even sat on one If you could help a guy out it would be greatly appreciated looking for inexpensive second hand parts in usable condition ro be shipped on my dime of course please let know if anyone has any of these parts for sale
