no no, I picked up a used crank today out of a running 650 for $110 and Ive found a coulple cases from $50 to $100... All I need now is a head which ebay has all over the place for $25 and a jug which might cost me $50 to $100... Not only is it much cheaper but I know its done right and its more fun this way!...

Well I got the ski today. $200 I paid... Its a 96 sl 780 lost the rear pto rod and ruined the upper case... Also the jug and head are going to need replacing on that rear cylinder..... The other 2 pistons and jugs look brand new.. Infact the engine looks like it was recently worked on. Case looks like it was apart recently and all the gaskets in the engine look after market...the front flywheel and stator looks brand new... Gonna start looking for parts......

Good video ...i Watched them all but you dont show how the carbs come out? Thats all i Need to know. It looks like the whole manifold needs to come out? My jet ski idles but wont rev up...gas pump is good and spark is good. But i have no idea how the 3 carbs come out?

I have a complete cdi box out of a 96 sl 780 with coils and everything.. Im parting out a ski... Ski ran just before it melted a piston... The crank is damaged too...

I really do not know a test for that. You just have to hook it up ans see what happens. Do your wires look burned at all?

I just got a 1996 Polaris SLX 780 and the guy said all that's wrong with it is dead battery and cdi box. Well..the CDI Box just dangles around in there and all the wiring outside of it seems torn or disconnected. I want to re-wire it...but does the CDI Box have a mount or does it really just sit in the hull? Doesn't seem right it can move around and yank the wires.

The CDI box actually gets bungie corded on top of the battery. Welcome to the world of Polaris man. The parts you need will be very hard to find and very expensive. A used CDI box will cost you between 300 and 500 bucks on ebay. Then you have to clean all the carbs and do the fuel pump upgrade. If you are replacing teh CDI you will probably have to replace the stair too, and that requires you to remove the engine and all. You have many hours ahead of you on this one bro.

I don't know if my CDI is good or bad. It looks like someone tried pulling it out without disconnecting it or it was tossed around while riding and not strapped down. Is there a simple way to test it without knowing how to put it all back in place.

hi i have a 1994 polaris 750. cay you tell me how to get the jug off. i too k the hed off and all f4 nuts from the bottom of the jug but it will not come off. and if you still have some parts left let me know. thanks

Was there a big difference in speed and power between the 750 and 780... I sold my 750 last yr and looks like Im picking myself up a 96 780 with bad engine tomorrow... By the way if you have a crak and case I may need one... According to previous owner lost a rod bearing... I see it tomorrow...

Just get a rebuilt engine from SBT. I think they are 600 bucks with a great warranty

what piece did you take out i see a little shaft inside and on the pump itself but none of them seem to come out. how did you do it?

Well, I found out I have a 97 SL 1050 Engine...so I need a CDI that works with that one.

I have not had polaris stuff for a while. If you found it for 50 bucks you better get it, and the guys on a polaris forum wathc my channel and if they see it, they will buy it. that is way too cheap.

I've followed all your videos just curious if you could share with us what websites you go for most of your info on rebuilding the carbs, engines, and other various work arounds for these skis. I just recently bought a dual ski trailer and 95 polaris slt 750 from original owner that has only been in fresh water and I want to work this over on fuel lines, fuel pump, maybe go premix. Need some input and suggestions on all of this. I've sent you my cell on FB. Got the lot for $400. Call me please.
