Can you do a video with light meter read vs nob setting so we get an idea of where to set the nob for different lighting situations?
@WesKriesel
@WesKriesel 5 ай бұрын
That's a good idea! However, I don't use a light meter for anything.

Are your knobs in brightest exposure even when in Daylight?

Polaroid cameras work best without flash outdoors in natural daylight but in low light situations, such as in shadows, back lit situations and indoors the flash must always be used or you will get blurry and or very dark photos. 600 cameras were better for low light as the film was 5x faster.

Yes! Agreed! After I finished the roll of SX70, I bought 600 film and put it in the Onestep but haven't used it yet. I think it's only supposed to take SX70. Do you know if the vintage OneStep cameras can use 600 film?
@NumaticVacuum
@NumaticVacuum 4 жыл бұрын
Wes Kriesel Photo You can use 600 film in these 1000/Onestep/SX-70 cameras but you’ll need to use an ND filter (neutral density) to slow the film back down to its original speed, otherewise your photos will be very over exposed even with the control set all the way to darken because the shutter speed and aperture is designed for 100 speed film and not 600. You can buy the ND filters from Polaroid and they just sit over the top of the dark slide before inserting the pack into the camera, so it essentially puts some sunglasses over the film letting less light through. Many people may see this as pointless as you may as well just use SX-70 film but 600 film and SX-70 film are the same price so it is something fun to try, you can actually get different looks with both film. Fun fact - When Polaroid made their original film formula, the stuff that developed in 90 seconds... The film packs for 600 wouldn’t actually fit into an SX-70 camera and vise versa, the packs had nodules that stopped it being inserted into the camera, which prevented the user from using the incorrect film.

@@Shaun_21 No, it will just turn 600 film into the sensitivity level of ISO 160, which is what SK-70 film is.

Are you talking about the matching Q light flash that goes on top of the camera? If you haven't gotten your answer yet The Flash can easily be removed from the camera. It actually has to be removed to install the double a batteries. I have a video about the flash on my channel. I did not show the battery compartment in great detail on that video but the battery door should be right on the back and it slides downward. Make hue light flash will actually prevent the camera from firing if it is not on or the flash is not recharged yet. The camera itself actually gets power from the film pack. Also when the queue lights flash is attached to the camera you will want to use the exposure compensation switch on the flash unit as the one on the camera will be disabled by The Flash. Avoid using it as a fill flash as a manual I have says it is not designed for it so it may let the camera take a picture without firing The Flash. The manual says to use a regular flash bar for fill Flash.

To be honest, it's been a while since I've used the camera, so I don't exactly recall. I feel like the brightest exposure setting is a bit too much for bright sunlight. I'd back it off one.

@@WesKriesel modern sx-70 film has a slightly faster highest solo rating in the original formula from the 70s making it a little more light sensitive. Polaroid recommends turning the dial little bit towards darken. However every Polaroid camera is a little bit different mine I usually leave in the middle and typically fine. You really just have to learn your camera meters
